i'm slowly falling in love with this watch. I have a few questions to whoever owns or have tried it. Is this watch comfortable? it it heavy? (The Breitling website does not state a weight for it for some reason)

also how long has this version of the watch been around, is it due for an update soon?

Thanks a lot!

The Chronomat B01 was introduced last year (well, 2009...). I wouldnt expect any major changes for many years. It should be similar in weight to the current model 120g Chronomat.

The B01 has been around for over a year now; I'd say around 18 months. It is a heavy watch, heavier than the Evo and Blackbird. It is comfortable to wear but it's slightly longer than the Evo & BB. I don't see a facelift coming just yet but Breitling recently released a brushed version of the B01 in a Limited Edition. If you like a heavy substantial feeling watch then you will like the way the B01 feels on your wrist. I'm happy with mine :!:

I echo others sentiment about the watch being heavy. I have mine on a bracelet, which only adds to the weight. I just picked up a Navi 01 (on croc deployant) over Christmas and can't believe how much different there is between the two pieces. However, I don't think the Chronomat B01 is too heavy and you'll easily get used to having the extra weight on your arm . . . especially when you get to see something so beautiful whenever you check the time!

I have the same combo as bozman52: a B01 and a Navi 01 (also on a croc strap with deployant, btw)

There is a significant difference in weight between the two and the B01 on a bracelet is hefty indeed. However, the B01 wears very comfortably and the weight feels reassuring rather than annoying. I've been wearing my B01 on a Diver Pro II strap w/deployant lately and that combo is hard to beat for comfort! :)

My experience with breitling is that they are very comfortable to wear regardless of weight and whether they are on a strap/bracelet.

Thanks for the input. It's a gorgeous looking watch no doubt, the problem is the weight. I recently bought a Navi world and gets somewhat uncomfortable after a while especially at work (on an airplane) so I was thinking of replacing it with either the B01 or the Aerospace. This watch is better looking but the aerospace probably suits my needs better.

Thanks again, appreciate it!

I have the B01. It is very comfortable to me. Feels very solid on my arm. I switch now between the bracelet and calfskin strap with deployant and both feels and looks great. I'm torn between which on to stay with for a long period of time. I'm about to buy me my second a limited edition 01.

On the bracelet it is not bad. I would say close to a BCE, but as others have said the watch is a little longer.

On A strap it is comfy, but I would recomend a Breitling deployant clasp which is on my B01 as of now.

The most comfy is a OR strap. I am going to order a bronz strap for mine soon. Here it is on a black oR.

Weight has never been a problem for me, even though I used to wear much lighter pieces.

In fact, B01's fuselage is so perfect that it matches almost any wrist. A croco or leather strap on deployant only adds to the comfort IMO.
