Has anyone here been to both the Tokyo store and the NYC one? If so how do they compare? The Tokyo store was much smaller than I expected but cool nonetheless....Mulliner Tourbillon in the case :D

I noticed that the layouts, in a way, are the same in both (to an extent, in terms of design/line separation). NYC is much larger, though.
It has been a few years (2) since I've traveled through Japan, so they may have done some remodeling, but the Manhattan shop is more advanced when it comes to display, but that makes sense if you take the time to consider it.
Despecta retro.

Hi All!

I visited the Breitling Boutique today for the very first time here in NYC. It's an awesome place with many watches on display & a very knowledgeable staff. Everything is fabulous & they go out of their way to try and please the patrons - simply awesome!

Had the new Transocean in my hand, it is a thing of beauty; however, I still do not think it's worth what the retail value states!

Breitling had a perpetual pocket watch No1 of 1 on display that was simply amazing; & I am not even into pocket watches! I was told by the staff that Breitling produces one pocket watch with complications a year.

I truly recommend for anyone that lives in the NYC Metro area or is visiting to visit the Breitling Boutique!

Cheers,

Enezdez

I happened to be lucky enough to be invited to the grand opening event, and I can tell you that it was more than worth the price of admission (that is if there was an admission).

The view from the third floor:

There were also numerous other sports luminaries and models sprinkled about, but frankly speaking, I was there for the watches (oh, and Ming Tsai's food -- not only did his restaurant Blue Ginger cater the event, but he was on hand serving folks, too). There are a mind-blowing 900 watches on display -- everything from hardcore divers to blinged-out Bentleys. If you can't find a watch you like, then you're not trying hard enough. And while there's not much more I can add that hasn't already been said regarding the staff, I would be remiss if I didn't give a shout out to Bita, who was the best hostess that one could ask for, both at the event, and the following day, when I stopped by with my son. True, there were no movie stars, supermodels or sports heroes this time around, but I still had a lot of fun.

Here's my son, Paul, getting a lay of the land:
Image

As you can see on the table, the nice ladies gave him a coloring pad and colored pencils to play with. Of course that paled in comparison to the magnetically actuated display cases:

Just swipe a special "key" over a red light, and voila:

Paul didn't want to give the key back to Bita (I don't blame him), but he finally relented and went back to coloring.

Oh, and don't worry about dear, old dad. I still managed to have an espresso and try on this baby:

(in case you're wondering, this is what Travolta was wearing)

Seriously, what a beautiful watch, and the movement, which is visible through the sapphire display back is really something to behold. Even Paul was mesmerized watching the column wheel actuate with the button presses.

Folks, if you ever find yourself in the neighborhood, you owe it to yourself to stop in, have some coffee or espresso, try on some watches, and talk shop with Bita, or one of the other lovely saleswomen (to a tee, they're all sweethearts).

I'll be back again soon.

Regards,
Adam

PS - Sorry about the lousy cameraphone shots. My buddy's G10 crapped out, so this is all we had to fall back on.

Nice update Adam. It is an amazing store isn't it!

I'm so pleased that John Travolta is wearing the same watch that I'm not!

Amazing, to say the least. Mind you, considering the company that they're now keeping on 57th Street, I suppose they had to bring the lumber, but still... Wow. I'll definitely be heading back there, never mind that I'm not currently in the market for a watch (well, I would be, but for some odd reason my wife considers our children's education more of a priority. ).

And as for the Navitimer B01, this is the watch that I've been waiting for from Breitling for years. Pity that when it finally arrived, it found me married with two kids and living in one of the most expensive cities in the world. Sigh...

Regards,
Adam

I visited the Breitling store in NYC this past Saturday with my girlfriend. We were there around 1pm and there were only about 5 other people there, so we pretty much had the entire store to ourselves. The sales staff was very friendly and kept asking if I'd like to see any watches - no annoying rude salesperson following you around the store either. Most ADs I've visited only have very few models in stock, are usually coated in fingerprints and grease, and sometimes don't even work properly. Not so here. All watches were perfectly working and polished beautifully . The best thing was that they have what seemed to be every Breitling mode in every color combination. I've been thinking to get a new Chronomat B01 and was able to see and feel every color and strap combination I like. I really like the Blackeye Blue with the Diver Pro II strap. We also got to see the new orange and red dial Skyracer bezels which are indeed hideous.

It's definitely worth a visit!

That would be a very good choice
