I have inherited a Breitling Top Time Black Face model 810, and the winder has come out see photos. I am wondering if this is a terminal event and its not worth getting repaired as I have no ideo of the value but really love the watch.

Your expert advice would be appreciated

Yes I dont want to lie to you its worth something, How much is very subjective though it depends how much someone wants it and is prepaired to pay for it but I like it and would love to own it.

A couple of thoughts. This might the the monobloc cased version of the 810, in which case I believe it has a split-stem, that
means that the crown is supposed to detach like that. Perhaps Craig or others who know this version can confirm?

Forgot about that, and that makes sense - looking at the end of the crown stem it does look 'odd' for a normal single piece crown stem.

The problem I have is that it does not wind and if I pull the winder out to change the hands, its comes out altogether, so I feel that something has gone wrong. The winders does seem to have a thread on it but I could be wrong.

Thanks for that Roff thats actually a fairly good comparison as thats working but less desirable color combo, TBH very honest and upfront I guess the value of Karl's fully working and minted up would be around £800 or $1200 maybe slightly more if someone really wants it, But and if its a big BUT due to the fact its not working and may or may not need quite a lot spending on it, we don't know what the movement is or if what condition it is so Id value it now in its present condition around the £300-£400 or $450-$550, I guess if its just a stem and service the cost from Steve Burrage would be around £100-£150 depending on if there were anything else wrong with it, Let me know if anyone thinks my valuations are way out as its always a difficult subject to value vintage pieces and it has different values in different pats of the world.
