Fellow Skyracer owners,

Realise this contribution comes somewhat late, but my Skyracer of six months (Purchased from an AD) is showing a problem with he postion of the date wheel in the window. Basically, it moves through a fraction too far when changing over, thus cutting through the number 1 in, say, 14. It didn't bother me at first but seems to be getting worse.

I figured I'd wait for my first service then get it addressed, but it's beginning to bug me a little... :( Has anyone experienced a similar issue - is it likely to be easily fixed?

I don't think I changed date in the danger zone, but did come close once (2030 or so).

I'd post a pic but I'm too embarassed

Other than this, it's been awesome - keeps great time when being worn etc (+ 2-3 sec p/d).

Cheers!

No problems of any kind from my 3,5 months old SR so far...i think the misalignment of the date was a relative common issue for the first bunches of Skyracers a couple of years back.. :?

If i remember correct it must be an easy fix...

As the danger zone is 8pm - 3am I would say that was more than close. Misaligned date wheel is a typical symptom of a damaged tooth and will need Breitling attention.

Thanks folks for the replies. Not the best news... Guess I'll be bringing forward my first service.

I've also noticed there's a tiny bit of looseness in where the date wheel sits. So, if I hold my left arm pointed up and jiggle, the date wheel shifts a little further through; if pointed at the floor, and jiggle, it shifts back almost to a centred position. Prob also something you'd associate with a damaged tooth, Roff?

Yep. Something isn't right in there.

Okay, getting ready to take the hit and drop my SR into Breitling Australia for attention to fix the date wheel, and I suppose a service too. But did another quick check of this super site. Noticed a post I'd previously missed mentioning a problem that sounds mighty familiar - a misaligned datewheel.

Mine has continued to get worse, sadly. It's now so you can't see the Date number '1' in '14', just the '4' and the beginning of number 15.

Still a fine looking piece aside from that though, IMHO!

:D
