Anyone had any custom straps made recently? I've never seen many in the Ling world, but tons for PAMs. Wonder if anyone put a custom leather strap made from a WWII ammo pouch on a ling!

There have been pics on here with all sorts of straps.

Part of the whole Panerai thing is buy custom straps. When I bought one, the last thing the AD said as I was leaving was "start buying straps."

With Breitling they have invested so much to make their straps uniquely their straps. It almost seems a shame to use anything else.

~Not that there is anything wrong with that.

It is like you read my mind! I had been thinking of throwing a custom leather on my SOH.

On Sharkman's referral I checked out Stone Creek Straps. I usually dress my SOH down and haven't quite taken to the Bracelet option. I wanted something a little interesting, so I ordered this for the weekends.

I should have it in about a month. What do you guys think?

It will look great. I traded in my SOHC when I bought the Master Compressor. It sat there for a couple weeks and they put a ammo style Pam strap and it went the next day.

Jeanna is a great strapsmith.

I dont really think the OEM straps look right on the SOH case. I love the OEM straps on most of the lines.

ABP (Paris)

This one is now 'worn in' feels better than OEM.

When it comes to Breitlings I'm a real sticker for keeping it OEM. I just think that the quality, feel and look are impossible to beat. Even ABP (who make stunningly good straps) make them a little less thick than Breitling do. I also just think that Breilting have got it spot-on in terms of design with what matches their watch heads.

(Having said that, your ostrich skin strap looks great on your BB, Alan).

Thanks Driver,

Thing with ABP is that I detail specced the strap in every detail to the half mm, these guys are great!

I've seen that one before Alan and I do like it. But I seriously lack the creative watch strap design intuition. The main reason I was thinking was a 20/20mm. Just thinking really.

Hi Justin,

Take a pic of an OEM strap and just annotate it in Acrobat. If you do not have the software PM me and we can talk it through.

A 20/20 option would be nice. The noly Breitling I wear a 20mm on is the SOC and 18mm at the clasp can seem a little narrow.

APB is an awesome site for straps, with their configurator and photo gallery you can get a damn good idea of what it will look like. I love the "Burger King" way they do things.....(Have it your way). From start to finish they make it exactly the way you want it....can't ask for more than that. I'm going to have to nab a few of their straps one of these days, you can get just about any type of leather from their huge selection.

Oh and Alan I love the look of that Ostrich strap too....stunning sir!

Yeah Shark that is what I was thinking. Using an authentic 20mm Breitling deployant but a custom made strap 20/20 for my Colt. Not too big on the 18mm, though it's not world ending.

Thanks for the offer on that Al, I will get a PM to you down the road when I get on it.
