Hi everyone!

After a year waiting and many trips to my AD, I finally got the call and managed to get my hands on the watch that will close my collection (until next year, that is 1 week from now). The call happened while I was out in Australia on a business trip for 3 months. I knew something like this would happen!. I was fortunate enough as a good friend of mine offered to collect it and keep it in his home until I returned.

It´s a magnificent piece and it's been without question the hardest to find so far.

Enjoy the pictures. Happy Christmas and new year!.

As I'm not a Rolex fan and have never tried purchasing one, can you elaborate as to why this specific model was so hard to find? To me, it seems the Daytona is a pretty common Rolex and shouldn't be too hard to get a hold of.

Thanks for the kind words guys.

Andrew, do you have anything in mind already? :)

bozman52, the Daytona is simply hard to find because Rolex under produces this model while demand is fairly high. It's usually difficult to find and AD's will take your name and put it in a waiting list which can go for quite some time, depending on how lucky you are.

Some people buy a Daytona and immediately try to sell it for a high premium.

I hope this helps.

Cheers,

Thanks for the explanation. I guess I know what to watch for now on the TimeZone sales forum . . .
