Dial looks OK (as far as I can tell), but what's with the Cockpit bezel? Fake or Franken?

The only Chrono Galactic fake I've seen so far is fairly poor and if this is fake, it's a lot better. I agree the dial looks fantastic and I would even say someone exchanged the original bezel with this one, but the hour and minute hands are wrong. I can't say the watch is a complete fake since I haven't seen another one like it but the watch is absolutely wrong for an original IMO. Very interesting.

I notice that the seller doesn't mention anything about boxes or papers.

Edit: Caseback pic added.

Good call, I missed that. This is an odd one. Clearly not a true Galactic, although, ironically, I think the changes might actually be for the better. I think I'll report it simply because the seller lists it as "like new," when it clearly isn't.

Edit: Reported as fraudulent.

I have to correct my earlier post. The bezel isn't even from the Cockpit. It looks like an Aeromarine line bezel, except I'm not aware of any Aeromarine rider tab bezels made in gold, at least not currently.

It's a windrider bezel - Aeromarine bezels don't have removable / screwed rider tabs.

Oops...looks like I had it right the first time. I was looking at pictures of the standard Cockpit, not the Chrono Cockpit, which has this style bezel. In looking at it again, it looks like someone just took the hands and bezel from a Chrono Cockpit and stuck them on a Chrono Galactic.

I e-mailed the seller. He said he couldn't explain the discrepancy, but would take it to a local AD to get it straightened out. Fair enough, I guess, except that he claims in his ad that the watch is "100% Authentic." How would he know, if he can't even tell it's got the wrong parts? And, is it truly authentic if it's a Franken? In other words, is the definition of "authentic" simply "not fake," or "true to the original factory design"?

I'm still pondering this. :huh

I emailed the seller to confirm that he had no boxes or papers. Confirmed.

Agree with the CC bezel but I think the hands are incorrect for a CG BN. They would be correct for a CC however.

 I'm not very good with the new models.
It's Franken or was composed with parts from both, just like some 90-es Chronomats.

I think Franken too but for the life of me I can't understand how a practically new watch gets changed up to include parts from two. I almost want to think it's a really good fake that the fakers really goofed on, especially since IMO the seller should have boxes or paperwork on a watch of this age.

Perhaps a mishmash from the factory too but the paperwork bothers me.

Maybe it's CC with CG dial.
I don't think it's a fake.
Looks too good and last time I was checking on fakes (a week ago), it wasn't there.

That's a thought but the caseback is CG with rose bezel reference. I've been checking all day on the rep sites and I can't find anything like it.
