I've been considering the purchase of a two-tone Rolex Midsize YachtMaster. I went to a Rolex AD today who also happens to be a Breitling AD. I've never really looked at Breitling before, but the Galactic 36 really caught my eye. However, I really want a two-tone watch, and the Galactic 32 is a bit smaller than I would like. (I am a female who prefers larger watches).

So...does anyone have any thoughts as to whether the Galactic 36 will be available in two-tone any time soon?

Thanks!

Hmmmm, difficult one. The Galactic 36 doesn't get a lot of discussion time here.

The older Cockpit models that the G36 replaced were available in two-tone guise in the past, so it's certainly possible that the G36 will too at some point. If you can hang on till Baselworld 2011, you might have a better idea then. But at the moment.... who knows. Sorry I can't be of more help.

Thanks for the reply, Driver.
The AD said pretty much the same thing. I guess I will wait and see what comes up at Basel :)

I like the Galactic 36. Of all the Galactics, I think it does the best job of combining the design elements into a cohesive look that 'works.' If it were available in a 40-42mm size, I'd consider it, although I'm still not for sure on that Buck Rogers bezel font.

As for it being available in two-tone, I have no idea; hopefully one of the pros here might have some idea about the direction Breitling wants to go. It might be worth noting, though, that all of the other Galactics are currently available in two-tone. I suppose this could be interpreted in diametrically opposite ways. One way is the view that, since all the others are in two-tone, surely the 36 will be as well, eventually. The other is that, given that all the others are in two-tone, if Breitling had any intentions of making the 36 in two-tone, they would have already.

That's all guesswork on my part, though. Like Driver8, I'm sorry I couldn't be of more help.

JacksonStone: "Buck Rogers bezel font"

Heehee...perfect description :)
I kind of like that font. I think it's got more character than the YachtMaster bezel.

Thanks for the thoughtful reply. I'll just have to see what comes up at Basel.

We sold 6 or 7 Chrono Galactics this Christmas at 39mm. All were for women, and my wife loves her's! The Galactic 36 is a sweet size and will do well.

Tag Heuer just released a Carrera 36mm, and as soon as the first two came through the door they were gone...

Bigger watches are the rage in Europe and catching on in the states.
