I can't speak for others, but I think it possibly has to do with a few things. Firstly it's titanium which tends to polarise opinion a bit - some people love it, some people hate it. Secondly it's not a very big watch, and a lot of Breitling fans tend to like larger watches. And lastly, both the titanium and the size makes it very light, and again, light watches are not usually the first choice for your average Breitling buyer.

Personally I really like the clean functional look, but all of the above puts me off it - the titanium, the size and the lightness. If it was brushed steel and 44mm, I bet it'd be a whole lot more popular.

All that plus there is a large part of the Breitling buying population who will never consider a quartz watch.

:yeahthat

My thinking as well.

LL's post prompted this.

Something else I thought of is can it be successfully worn on a right wrist because of the crown operation?
Same query applies to early Chronospace and Emergency as well.

Left wrist wearer.

I think it is a niche watch for Breitling. For me this model was my first experience with Breitling, saw one probably about 20 years ago and I really liked the functionality. Later on I learned more about it and that really solidified my wish to own one. In fact I might have put an ad for one on my dream poster way back as well.

I like titanium, I like the analog with digital window, I like the quartz.

This model will remain in my collection for a long time.

Thanks for your input everyone...

one more thing...i might be going crazy but I can't find anything about the Co-Pilot on breitling's website or on the price list on this site's homepage. Has it been discontinued?

The 2010 chronolog lists the modules and prices: all digital display type

module w/steel professional bracelet - $2115
module w/titanium professional bracelet - $2645
module w/steel pilot bracelet - $2870
all US prices

Hope this helps.

For me the Aerospace is the single best all purpose every day watch. If I was gonna have just one watch it'd be an Aerospace.

Titanium model on bracelet THE most comfortable Breitling I've ever worn. I suspect the understated looks is what turns most potential buyers off. No bling at all. What I would change; Use the older style dial with the Avantage size case. The Avantage, imo, is the perfect size but I would like slanted lumed numbers on the dial. Since it's quartz I can grab and go which is a definite avantage (pardon the pun).

I'll always have a soft spot for the Aerospace, it was the Breitling that got me hooked. I wanted one for years and eventually bought a used one, my first ever Ling.

I think once people add more substantial mechanicals to their collection, these smaller Quartx pieces take a back seat and eventually get sold. They just start to feel too small.

Superbly accurate, functional watches though

Just to chime in. There is lots of love for the Aerospace. Have had mine for almost three years. Perfect everyday watch with all the right features, backlighting, countdown, alarm, chronograph, date, and UTC. And a very clean appearance!

The most comfortable watch in the world imo. I had 4 of them and I finally bought the Emergency as a keeper but it's not as comfortable as the Aerospace. Especially on warm sunny days I miss the Aerospace on shark leather strap with deployant buckle.

My first B was the Aerospace. Over the years I have had a couple more of them, but this is my favorite.

This is by far my most comfortable watch and is deadly accurate. Oh it looks great too... I take it on most of my business trips using the alarm and multi time zone capability.

Awesome photo Txturbo.

I love my Aerospace but i find myself reaching for my other watches simply because of wrist presence. But every once in a while i feel like being a little understated... then the Aerospace shines in its own unobtrusive way.

Breitling did many changes to the Aerospace during the years and the later versions are much different (bulky) copared to earlier designs (slim).

I've been reading this thread with interest because I am considering an Aerospace as my daily wear with a suit. I've owned a lot of Breitlings, B1, Chronomats, Crosswinds, Blackbirds, Avengers, Blacksteels and the Steelfish but I have never considered one until recently when they made them 42mm. I figure that it might be the perfect watch to wear under a shirt cuff as it's so thin and the functions would certainly be useful.
