Hi,

I'm very much interested in a new Navitimer with leather strap. However, I would prefer a 12-9-6 alignment of the (well, how do you call them?). The current navitimers have them aligned at 9-6-3. The Navitimer World will surely be too big for my wrists and look awkward.

Now I wonder if I probably overlooked certain models (it should be a "classic" Navitimer, no Montbrillant etc.). How often does Breitling change the Navitimer appearance at all? May it be that there will be a 12-9-6 model soon?

I think a new 12-9-6 layout Navi is highly unlikely any time soon, given that Breitling are currently moving towards using the tricompax layout (i.e. 3-6-9) B01 calibre in the Navitimer.

I think you will have to look at pre-owned pieces if you really want that specific layout on a Navi. Check out the links here to see pictures of the various models over the years to see if there's one you specifically like -

Then it'll be a case of ploughing through ebay, Chrono24, sales forums, etc to find one for sale.

Thank you very much for the reply. As Breitling obviously uses the 3-6-9 layout since 2002, I thought maybe it's time for a change within the next 2-3 years. I can surely wait with the Navitimer (and buy a Rolex Submariner first). But, if I understand you correctly, you doubt that there will be a Navitimer with 12-9-6 within the next years at all!?

1952 actually, that is the Navitimer look.

There have been 6 / 9 / 12 variations in other Navitimer range models in the past - Old Navitimer being an example, and doubtless there will be again, but the classic Navitimer is a tricompax (3 / 6 / 9) layout.
