Hey Bronco,

What are your thoughts on the navitimer now that you've had it for a few days? Any issues, any thing you like or don't like that you didn't expect?

No real issues from me. The only, very very, minor thing with mine is that if you wanted to get out the digital calipers... the chrono hand isn't 100% inline with the point of the slide rule arrow (at 12). I mean it is so close that you really have to have spent hours staring at it to notice! (less than a millimeter, but who notices things like this!) :) It is really not off enough to send it in....yet. Maybe after the new wears off I might get nit picky but for now I am NOT being without this watch.

This is my favorite watch and if I was to have to pick just one to keep, this would be it. In fact, because of the in house movement, limited edition status and display back... I feel like the rest of my collection's status has been drastically reduced. I will likely be changing things up and upgrading the collection to this or higher standards.

The dial printing process created a super crisp dial. The red chrono hand looks absolutely awesome in motion, across the black dial. The red date wheel is a dark red and it certain light looks black at a glance. I actually like the white date wheel. I use the date function on my watches all the time and this combo makes it really readable.

The size is just right and the profile thickness allows it to easily slip under a dress shirt.

My wife just shakes her head when she sees me holding the watch and studying every thing about it.

One kinda cool and surprising thing I discovered is that the movement has the serial number engraved on it, just like the caseback. I didnt know that they engraved serial numbers on movements to match.

So, yes I still love it and am so glad that 1) Breitling listened to the WIS and made this and 2) I bought one!!

Thanks for the update. It's just what I needed to keep me going until mine gets here. Looking at your photos helps also.

They always have (at least in recent years), remember that the COSC cert (which contains the serial number) is issued to the movement, the watch then assumes that serial number as well.

oh yeah.... I didnt even think about that. That makes total sence now. I guess I never gave it much thought because up until this purchase I haven't ever been able to see the movement!

I stopped by an AD in Bellvue, WA today where I happen to be travelling on business. They had just gotten one in so I tried it on. I have to admit I was a little disappointed. Maybe I'm too used to the World, but it felt small and not well balanced. It's a similar size to my IWC 5001, but it didn't wear as well IMHO.

Without much trouble I was able to talk them into a 10% discount. A little more wiggling could probably get that to 15%.

The jeweler you're speaking of is Alvin Goldfarb. It's probably the most pretentious, self-righteous store I've ever been in. I bought my Chronomat B01 from them just after it was released in the summer of 2009. I'm continually disappointed with their lack of service and knowledge around watches. I'm VERY surprised you were able to talk them into any discount at all, especially not being a repeat customer. Nice work, though. I've moved my business to Govberg's, even though I live in Seattle.

Besides the size and "balance" was there any other reason you were disappointed?

This is the reason why I put my name on the waiting list instead of ordering and putting money down. The dealer and I agreed to a price and he said I'm first on the list once it comes in. I do want to try it on my wrist before I commit though.

For me, it lacked a 'spark' that I expect to see from watches in that price range. I paid a similar amount for my JLC MCDC and my IWC 5001. Both have a higher quality feel and finish than the B01 Navi did IMHO. I'm sure I'll take another look at some point.

I guess I also feel like I picked up my Navi world for less than half as much as the B01 and I could pick up a ETA based Navi for less too and the difference isn't worth it. At that price point you can get into what I think are some nicer brands like IWC, JLC, Blancpain, VC, etc.

LOL, hadn't thought of that!

Just got to wait for the Navi bracelet I ordered with it to come in and we're all good to go!

OK Bronco, you've got me bang to rights!

OK, so I got home just before 4pm and open up the outer packaging, my first immediate thoughts were "Boy, is this new style box heavy". I then opened the outer box and then opened the leather travel box and removed the bezel guard, first thing that struck me was how that dial caught the light!

So, I then flipped it over and peeled off the caseback sticker and immediately thought, wow, that is really cool! The depth in that display back and movement is fantastic.

So I put it on and first thoughts were, mmm, it looks kind of small, but I have been wearing the vintage Chrono-Matic all day and at 48mm, it's bound to make the new one look small!

After an hour of wearing it I began to feel that it actually wore pretty big and I think it's the perfect size!

I love the font used for the date wheel and the colour of those sub dials is truly amazing.

It makes me smile every time I look at it, it's fab, it's ace, it's everything you could wish for in a Navitimer!!

I'm looking forward to getting the bracelet I originally ordered with it, I know it is going to look real special on that, but I also love it on the black calf, it's such a perfect combination and personally I think it looks so much better than the croc, I'm looking forward to seeing some pics of it on one though, just so I really can see all variations.

It feels real smooth to wind and I think the attention to detail on the movement is very nice. I hope it lives up to its hype and proves to be accurate and trouble free. The pushers need a real firm push to activate and there seems to be a little slack in the top one, not sure if that's common?

I'm very happy with my LE number 1314, pretty easy to remember.

It would be cool if we had a listing of the LE numbers of the ones owned by BS members.

I'm going to wear it to the office tomorrow, see what my colleagues think, they've heard plenty about it for a few weeks and some can't believe anyone would spend that kind of money on a watch, will be interesting to see the reaction!

There's a guy that comes in to our office once every week or so who wears a standard Navi on a black calf and it always catches my eye and I always think how stunning it looks, well, I'm really over the moon that I now have my own special Navitimer!!

Oh, I forgot to meantion that after Stef posted his pictures I looked at the full on front view, used a straight edge to line up his chrono hand to the slide ruler 12:00 arrow and ta dah... its is exactly like mine. So appearantly the slide rule is off to true North by a millimeter or so counter-clockwise. The chrono hand DID always look like it was "splitting" the 12:00 battons so I didnt know what the deal was, but now I know it was designed that way. A big relief for me and that erases any negative aspects of this watch completely!

you are now permitted to go about your business... :)

Nice pics!! Congrats on the watch.

I'm surprised you thought the watch felt small on your wrist. It looks huge in your wrist shot photo. What size is your wirst, if you don't mind me asking.

Anyway, I noticed a difference in your watch compared to the stock photo on the 1st page of this thread. The sides of the sub-dials are silver on your watch where as they're black in the stock photo. I like the way your's looks better.

I just got a call from my AD. My watch won't be shipped until January. :(
