Hello everyone

My name is Bart and I live in Belgium, Europe. I have been looking for a quit a while now, to buy my first Breitling. I have been reading this forum for a long time, but I just registered. When I searched some websites, I found this guy who sells his Breitling Navitimer, for a bargain, I think.
He asks about 700 euro's for the watch, which is around 900 dollar I think. The photo isn't that clear, and when I contacted him, he said he couldn't make any better photo's because of his bad camera. But he assured me it was a authentic Breitling, and he also said he had the documents for this Navitimer. He asked me to visit him, but as the city where he lives isn't close to my house, I wanted to ask you guys if you could tell me if it's a real or fake one. Maybe you guys got some tips to pay attention to when I to buy it?

Thanks in advance.

Welcome to the site Bart. I can't say with absolute certainty given the quality of the picture but I would say there's a 99% chance it's a fake. Those subdials look mighty close.

Wait for some other opinions and once again it's great to have you with us.

Definitely fake - as Elwyn says the subdials are far too close together.

There's also a bizarre, and unexplained phenomenon that it is completely impossible to get a photo that bad of a real watch - in the 3 1/2 years that I have been here I have never seen a photo that bad of a real watch (and having seen some of Driver8's photos that's saying something!) and yet they are everyday occurrences with fakes.

Thank you guys for your advice. I noticed too, that the subdials were very close to eachother compared to other navitimer models.
