I have an option to buy a 2009 Blackbird on a Pilot bracelet.
However the bracelet makes the watch look too big on me so I'd want an Ocean Racer and a dark brown croco strap instead.

If I got the BB I would probably sell the bracelet to fund the straps as I would not be able to afford them otherwise!

How much are they worth on the pre-owned market and is there a market for them?

By the way I refer to a SS brushed/satin version not polished.

Thanks.

Mac.

As far as I know the BB bracelet is around $1400 USD new. So I'm guessing you'd be able to sell it for half of that. Just a guess as you don't tend to see too many for sale.

Thanks guys, that helps a lot.

I wanted to know if I could sell it and get enough for a well discounted brown croco (tang) and an Ocean Racer & deployant?

Thanks.

Mac.

I know this is completely subjective, but on my 6.5 inch (16.5 cm) girly-man wrist, the problem isn't the bracelet but the head. I loved the 22/20 Pilot on my Chronomat, but it was that damn 17.1mm head thickness that screwed it up for me, not helped at all by the 43.7mm case diameter. Are you sure going with a different strap is the answer? Besides, IMO, the faceted Pilot bracelet is one of the nicest - and most defining - characteristics of the BB. Just my .02.
