The aerospace was my first "Expensive" watch...bought it after i got my first job, I ended up selling it a year later to get the Omega Speedmaster, but I still consider the aerospace the most comfortable watch i've ever worn.

I'm thinking of buying it again. What do you guys think of this watch, and why isn't this watch as popular as the other breitlings (Navis..Chronomats...etc)?

I can't speak for others, but I think it possibly has to do with a few things. Firstly it's titanium which tends to polarise opinion a bit - some people love it, some people hate it. Secondly it's not a very big watch, and a lot of Breitling fans tend to like larger watches. And lastly, both the titanium and the size makes it very light, and again, light watches are not usually the first choice for your average Breitling buyer.

Personally I really like the clean functional look, but all of the above puts me off it - the titanium, the size and the lightness. If it was brushed steel and 44mm, I bet it'd be a whole lot more popular.

All that plus there is a large part of the Breitling buying population who will never consider a quartz watch.

Personally I love this model and have been thinking about getting one for a while now. Then again, I love the titanium and smaller size, but as Driver and sharkman pointed out, most Breitling fans prefer their larger, weightier models because they imply better quality materials and finish, and the quartz puts a lot of people off. I love the digital readouts, though.

The aerospace was the first model that got me interested in Breitling. I loved the lightweight titanium case and the digital accuracy. The size is just right for me. A lot of the Breitling models are realistically just too big and heavy for me. I never ended up buying one after getting into the mechanical models though and now am reconsidering one.

I may take another look at the B1/airwolf and I wish the chronospace wasn't so darn huge, love that layout and design. Probably make a decision on one early next year :) .

Plenty of love for the Aero... here!

The size is right for me too...plus it was so damn accurate..much more accurate than my navi world or yachtmaster and definitely much more comfortable than either...

I also wish that chronospace was a bit smaller...it's a lovely watch but it's so damn big...

Still don't know what i'm gonna decide on...this site turned me into a watch addict! But it's alright..i like it!

I have owned mine for 14 years and worn it every day since. What appealed to me was the simple understated look, the matt titanium finish, the functions, the ease of use, instant time zone change and the lightness. I love it's accuracy. I don't care that it has a quartz caliber. Over the years, I feel the updates have slowly lost what first attracted me to it, aesthetically. Currently I'm deeply tempted by a satin brushed Blackbird before VAT goes up, but it feels a big step in every way.

For me it has three things I hate in watches:

quartz movement (and at mechanical price)
titanium (do not like the light weight feeling)
digital diplay (if I wanted a digital display I would buy a Timex)

Other than that I guess its OK! :)

If I was a professional pilot it would certainly be right up in the top of my list, but I'm not.

IMO
It may be the functional and wearable nature of the Aerospace that makes it little mentioned. I have found that it is common to find that the owner of an Aerospace uses it as a daily wear and it may well be their only high end watch. It can feel quite toy like in comparison to say a 'cheaper' Colt Auto. I like the low mass on a warm day and slimness when wearing a shirt with tight cuffs.
I'm not so keen on the later more flashy models, but prefer the look of the turn of the century (edit) Arabic Italic E or F65062 models.
I ended up adding an earlier F56062 with a grey dial and an Aerospace two tone bracelet to my collection because of the association to the John Travolta 'Broken Arrow' movie  [I think this was on a black calf, but I prefer bracelets].
I originally thought of the Aerospace as a poor cousin, but after having owned one, believe that for precisely the fact it is thin, light and has a no-nonsense multi-function, gives it benefits of its own. It is a niche model that is hard to compare to its stablemates.

It has been said that Aerospace's have been seen on the wrists of a couple of Israeli PM's and Astronauts on the International Space Station :?:
I have to admit that if I were going to be pulling a whole load of G's, a featherweight Aerospace is the 'ling I would want on my wrist.

I'm a professional pilot and I always find myself taking off my navi world after a couple of hours in the cockpit...it's great for every day use but it tends to get uncomfortable in the cockpit after a while...the aerospace on the other hand is very light and you can barely feel it on your wrist...

The Aerospace was my very first Breitling and I purchased it in Aruba, probably 10-15 years ago. Back then I loved the look and loved the lightness of the titanium, and it was all I could afford, yet it let me buy into my favorite watch maker. 2 kids, living in a two family house, wife a home maker, single income. It all added up at the time. Since then, live has improved, my carreer has been fast tracked and I have purchased a number of other Breitlings, Rolex, and others. My titanium Breitling was like an entry level drug to me and I've been addicted ever since. I still have my first Breitling, and wear it often when fishing, swimming, and other water sports. Love the thing! Wouldn't ever part with it. It fact when I kick the bucket it will be handed down to my kids. Meanwhile the Rolex and Tag will probably be traded in toward another purchase.

I was first introduced to Breitling by a Dr. friend who showed me his Aerospace about 24 years ago, that was pre-internet for you young whipper-snappers. I went down to the only Breitling dealer for 100's of miles to check them out. Of course, all of them were WAY out of my price range. A couple years after that, my Dr. friend said the dealer received some "affordable" Breitlings. Well, I went down and they had a Military Quartz and a Shark Quartz. The Shark was just a little too much, so I opted for the Military, on lay-away mind you. But, I always wanted an Aerospace; it just took me 17 years to get. Look at me now.

I have three Breitlings, a Cockpit, flanked by a Seawolf and an Aerospace (size-wise). Love them all for different reasons. As for the Aerospace, I like the size (easily fits under a shirt cuff - unlike the Seawolf), I like the look (silver dial on a black deployant croc), and I like the fact that it's a bit different than the other watches in my collection. What I'm not crazy about with the Aerospace is that the digital displays can be hard to read and setting and controlling it through the crown can be frustrating (although I guess that's kind of limited by having no pushers). As I don't use the various functions often, the crown operation doesn't bother me all that much (other than a bunch of G-Shocks, the Aerospace is my only chronograph), I would however, like to see fewer rotations necessary to change functions. My likes outweighed the dislikes enough that I bought it.
