Hello All...

im new here but not new to Breitling, im actually purchasing the Emergency Mission next week (very excited). If you wouldnt mind, could you take some time to let me know you your pros and cons of the Emergeny Mission. i hear alot of rumors out there and i have been eyeing this watch for about 3 years so i just wanted to make sure this will be a great purchase.

Some questions i have are....

1. how long does the battery last
2. whats the real deal about deplying the Antenna by accident
3. There are some rumors online that you need to register it and need to be a pilot to have one (i am) but is this ture.
4. How do you know the Antenna even works ? The store that im getting from has a case and i saw some sort of reciever im sure thats for testing.....

any more general info would be great.

D

1. average 2/3 years normal quartz
2.if you get rescue guys at your door they will charge you the rescue cost lol (dont get this watch if you have kids) p.s. never heard anyone who had this charged, they need to know you are lost or in distress to actually search
3.you need to register it but you dont have to be a pilot, anyone whit the money to buy it new can register it
4.there is a transmitter tester in the package that allows you to check if the beacon is working properly check youtube for videos of that

Hello Dnice77,

Before buying a discontinued Emergency Mission Watch (not present in the Chronolog 2010-2011), please have a look at this other thread...
http://breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=13&t=25106

Here you will see that there will be a new Emergency line for 2011 (a 2 years project for Breitling) as Dassaut has decided to stop producing the 121.5 transmetter...
If you have been patient for years, why don't you wait for some more months in order to get the latest Emergency line?
(I have one from 1996, I hope to get an offer from Breitling to get the latest one for a good price :lingsrock:

Regards,

Challenger_fr

Thanks for the update, i alrady made the purchase as since they are discontinued mu local retailer had a blow out sale that i couldnt resit. im aware of the freq issuesm im a pilot and the 121.5mhz freq isnt going away soon for search and rescue. if it does im pretty confident that Breitling will make the current E oweners happy with a update, exchange program or something.

All that being said i already want another E, i want the titanium with the Co-Pilot, but thats one i will wait for the new line, im very anxious so hopefully something will be announed in March !!!!
