Folks,
I may be in the market for a new watch soon - after I flip a few watches from my collection. I want something different from my usual choice of diver or flyers watches. So that rules out another Ling. I've had a fair few Lings and Omegas over the years, but I'm not interested in Rolex or Cartier...or anything dressy - as I wouldn't wear it that much. In a nutshell, it has to be practical for anyday, any weather, yet be smart for the office or wine bar!

I happened to chance across the NZL-32, a chronometer grade chronograph.
Now, i don't need another chrono and especially one with regatta countdown, but its striking dial and clean case appeals to me. The 42mm size is just right, too. I can tuck it under a sleeve if I want. I also like the black rubberised strap.
The downsides (to me) are the lack of date and the low contrast hands, although it does have double AR crystal.

What do you guys & gals think of it, or could you recommend something similar looking and priced (new or used) for around £2000 gbp ($3100 usd)?
I looked for reviews elsewhere but couldn't find much.

Thanks :D

I like this model. It's something different, versatile, and it ought to wear very comfortably on that strap.

You've identified two of the major drawbacks, in that it is not very easy to read and there is no date. I would add that it is likely to depreciate quite a lot, being one of Omega's less popular models, so you'll want a decent discount on this one. No in-house movement either, in case that is important to you.

If you really like it and you can get one for a decent price, then I say go for it.

Nicest Omega I've seen in a while. Seems to tick all the boxes you mentioned.

Thanks for your comments.

I have a Navi with silver dial, and the hands are slightly tinted, making it easier to read. Would be good if this Omega was similar. I will try to find an AD who carries this, I think i need to see it in person and push for a discount using the points mentioned (it being discontinued).

Yes for a chronograph-chronometer, it is quite cheap - but the lack of in-house movt is not a big issue for me, but i do see your point!

One of the things which bugged me about my old MoonWatch, was the lack of date...but then, we all have cellphones these days don't we?!
