Hello everyone. This is a great site. I have just recently purchased two Orbita watch winders. I have noticed that the last two times that I have left my three year old CA on the winder for more than four days it has stopped. After manually winding (40 turns) it runs just fine. In fact it keeps perfect time to the second (give or take 2-4). The winder is working OK, because my SA and SO stay wound . Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. I may be due a service, but the CA only gets wet when I wash it.

CA = Clockwise 800 tpd
SA = Clockwise 800 tpd
SO = Both 650 tpd

So it sounds like you have two winders that are identical and I am assuming these are single watch winders.

Usually in a case like this the problem is due to insufficient winding either due to a watch requiring a certain tpd's in one direction and the winder winding in both directions or to just not receiving sufficient tpd's in the correct winding direction.

At first thought, since the SO winds in both directions I thought that you might have your winder set like that for the CA as well and if so then half the turns will be clockwise and half counterclockwise. The CA and SO would then only receive half the number of tpd's the setting is set for. However if the SA is working then I would think that the power reserve on the CA might be insufficient and it might be time for a service.

My first thought would be to fully wind the CA and then leave it setting on the table and see how long the power reserve lasts.

Are you sure you have the winders set to the correct and sufficient tpd's for all watches and are you sure that the CA is turning in only one direction and if not, then is it getting 2X the normal turns?
