I sent my Colt auto chrono in for an overhaul and change the crystral since it was scratched a bit . I wanted to sell it but now that i'm spending all this money(550$ overhaul only) i'm probably going to keep it. Do they usually polish the case also?
It'll take about 1 month for the estimate only and then i guess 2-3 months before i get it back. Do they send back all the pieces they change if any?
Here are the before pics.

They won't return any replaced parts.

Not exactly on topic, but does that also apply to dial changes?

Yes, polishing the case is part of the $550 service.

I had a feeling that was the way it is. Is the old dial unusable after that? I mean, if I ever decided I wanted to switch back, would it be feasible to use the old dial?

It should be able to be removed without damage, the dial is held in place with screws through the dial feet. Breitling don't return them because they don't want genuine parts available on the market.

That's understandable, up to a point, but what about individual property rights? I mean, that's my dial they're taking out, not theirs, and they're not giving me any sort of credit on the price for a new dial. It seems to me if the dial is reusable, they should give it back. (I'm envisioning trying to have this conversation with a Breitling service rep; a fat lot of good it would do me, I'm sure.)

I don't mean to be rude, either, but I have no idea what you're talking about.

All told, your "before" pictures don't show lots of wear. It's in pretty good shape!

I'll be interested to see the "after" shots. Good luck with the wait.

Thanks! The watch is in good shape but is running about +50 sec/day. And the crystal (mineral glass) is scratched a bit so i'm going to have that replaced as well. Can't wait to see it back on my wrist! Hopefully no more than 2 months.

Speaking of scratches, I am curious to know how you managed to get scratches on the rotor.
