If it's just the bezel - especially an OEM bezel - you won't get much flak. If the whole thing is iced out, that's another matter. But surely you knew what you were getting yourself into when you got the thing. Everybody has an opinion about majorly flashy jewelry, not just forum folk. People on the street may not express their opinions to you, but rest assured, they have them. We'll just tell you what we think, is all.

sure why not, not factory bezel but oh well. I like it. People have said they liked it. Only harsh words are usually the die hard watch lovers found on forums.

I really like that !!!! That is nothing like I thought you were gonna post. There was a time when I had a Super Avenger ,and had planned on the exact diamond bezel you have. I think the one I was looking at was a 4 ct .

I must confess ever since I picked up the silver dial Chronomat I've been "peeking" at the diamond bezel version. Parking the car in the back and wearing a trench coat, as it were.

This is probably a really stupid question, but I have to ask--

Can you still use it as a functional rotational bezel once it's full diamond? I.e., is there any way of marking time with it? I have a part-diamond bezel Aquaracer, but it still has the minutes marked on it, which I love...

Breitling's own diamond bezels come with rider tabs, as well as raised markers at the five-minute marks. Plus, each diamond actually corresponds to one minute on the dial. (See pic below.) Thus, they can mark time nearly as well as standard bezels. The one on the OP's watch does not appear to be able to mark time at all, since I can't see any way in which you can determine the starting point for the time you're measuring; as such, it seems the bezel is rendered purely decorative in function. Having said that, watches that have chronographs largely render the time-marking bezel redundant anyway. Still, if my watch originally came with a functional, time-marking bezel, I'd want it to retain that function even if I wanted it to be flashy. But that's just me - to each his own.

(I borrowed one of Ron's pics from this thread, purely for demonstration purposes. If that's bad form, just let me know and I'll remove it.)

Ron's pics are OG.

OEM Diamond bezel is win over all I have seen.

Agreed. If you want class with your flash, OEM is the way to go.

That's exactly what I was wondering, thanks for clearing that up.

I agree about the flash. I do like it, but to me a watch is a functional item (that's the only reason I can justify the prices of them in my head when purchasing!); anything that detracts from the function is a no-no for me personally.
