I was thinking of selling my Colt chrono auto to raise funds for a SO II. But like my colt. So i'm not sure what to do. What do you guys think?

Hi,

Is the Colt Chrono your only watch? Do you have others? Or are you looking for only one watch for everyday use?

Some additional info might help folks here provide you with meaningful feedback.

It's not the only watch i have. I like dive watches. I have a dressy watch (Oris Artelier Worldtimer Centennial).
I'm also leaning towards an Omega seamaster PO.

How much are you thinking of spending and how much do you think you'll get for your Colt Chrono? If you get a really good price for your Colt it might make sense to sell it and use the cash towards your new purchase. If however, you test the waters and the offers you get are low and insulting...then I say keep the colt. You'll have a nice familiar friend in your rotation :D

Like you I like dive watches. Recently these are the two dive watches that caught my attention:

IWC Aquatimer
Omega Planet Ocean

I came back to the forum to get some feedback from the guys. Here is the link to the thread where you might find some additional info on a few dive watches such as the IWC and PO.

http://www.breitlingsource.com/phpBB2/viewtopic.php?f=6&t=24512

If I were you, I would go with the IWC.

Hope this makes sense.

Cheers,
Alex

Depending what you have exactly, it may be a good chunk toward your new SOII if that is what you really want.

It never hurts to post a for sale ad with all the information and pics you have and see what kind of offers you entertain. If you find something favorable, then by all means do it if it gets you a watch you really want.

Not sure how much it could fetch. There are 2 on ebay. One seller is asking 2700$ and the other 3200$. The Omega PO is on my list also.

The Aquatimer is nice, but is about $4500 list on the rubber strap where the SOII is only $2695.

Go with your gut. Maybe it's time for a fresh new look. I have lot's of nice, and crappy, watches I never wear any more. Seems I always want, then wear the new one,,,, until it too gets old.

Then again I shouldn't talk because I can't seem to part with any of them either.

I've got an addition addiction. I keep adding..... Been looking at a Superocean too.

Where's my medication?

Looks like things can end up working great for you. Given the prices on Ebay it looks you'll be able to get the SOII with the funds raised from selling your colt chrono. Now you have to decide if you can part with it and if you like the new SO enough to buy one.

Have you tried it on before?
