Just for the record Gentlemen, my comment began with, "Not suggesting what you should do, but here's what I would do ..."

And concluded with, "But that's just me..."

Might be time to compose a disclaimer for my signature.

I will say this - if an employer was approached in a reasonable manner and got his or her panties in a bunch, storming off in a huff, that's a pretty good sign the employer just got caught. The more indignant or down right angry, usually the more there is to hide. Ex. - writing off $20K in employee bonus gifts that only cost about $2K. The mind wanders with the possibilities.

***OF COURSE - THE FOREGOING REPRESENTS THE OPINIONS, SPECULATIONS, AND RUMINATIONS OF THE AUTHOR AND NOT BREITLINGSOURCE.COM, IT'S MODERATORS, HEIRS, OR ASSIGNS. THESE OPINIONS, SPECULATIONS, AND RUMINATIONS ARE NOT INTENDED TO BE RELIED UPON AND ANYONE DOING SO ASSUMES THE RISK OF ANY HARM RESULTING THEREFROM.***

And you, Brutus? And you? Then dies Sharkman. (please play Will Ferrell's "Old School" version of "Dust in the Wind" at my memorial service.)

You might want to add the specific disclaimer that nothing you say should be inferred as constituting legal advice, or establishing an attorney/client relationship between the writer and any reader, intentional or otherwise. No need to bring the ABA down on you.

Actually the ABA can bite me. They have no jurisdiction or control over anything I do. :nana:

In all earnestness, if the OP did suffer dire consequences, he really ought to seek the advice of a good employment lawyer. If all he got was chewed out, big deal.

Funny replies, the boss is a good guy ive known him for years, i did not get fired, in fact he felt so bad i almost made him cry.

He thought they looked so good he was getting a good deal, he did not pay much for them and does not know about watches so ill let him go. We both had a good laugh.

No way i can go to work without bringing this up, glad i did. :nana:

Well that sure was an anti-climatic ending. You could have at least entertained us by saying that you were fired and escorted out by Hank the office Security Guard. :popo:

:yeahthat Or at least embellished on the crying bit. Like he was reduced to a blubbering mass of regret, and felt so bad that he offered you a Christmas bonus of a trip to Switzerland so you could go to the Breitling factory in person and pick out your replacement. Then he gave you a sterling sliver Montblanc fountain pen, personally inscribed with a mea culpa: "Please forgive my errant ways; their pens are better anyway."
