hi,
i am heading to Nassau for work next week, and hoping to do a bit of shopping.
I believe it is tax free, and good for watch shopping,so I hoping to come home with a nice Breitling, as a little treat .
I am kind of debating between the Airwolf raven, or the Chronospace.
Just wondering if any of you had any experience/recommendation on shops..dealers..what to do ..what to look for and what to avoid..
and owners..of one or the other what your thought are on the above pieces?

For now I have this in mind the raven with gray face, gold leather croc strap,
or chronospace gray face with dark brown strap.
thank you.

hopefully i can post a pic ext week.

I can tell you I've traveled to the Caribbean fairly extensively, and I purchased my first Breitling, which was an Aerospace there in the 90's, at Little Switzerland. In fact my first purchase of a decent watch was a Tag I purchased there too, still have both. I've since purchased a number of other items, including gold and watches, from there without any issues. They have stores all over the Caribbean, Bay Street in Nassau in fact, and also have stores here in the US if you should have problems. I can't say if they are the best deal in town, but there is something to be said for the confidence factor of a reputable dealer, especially in Nassau.

Nassau has a Breitling boutique a couple of doors down from the little Switzerland on bay st. Both are owned by the same people and they will give you an excellent price on the watch so be sure to work it. I have bought most of my Breitlings there, and they have a very nice selection.

Typically discount is 20%, so they'll start there. Just make an offer and perhaps they'll meet you in the middle. IMHO, cash doesn't make a difference, but then i also never offered it so you can try. Once again- just make an offer and worst case they'll say no. Remember they want your money as that's their job, but because they have so many people going through their they move a lot of watches. Stick to the Breitling boutique, as you'll have the best selection there and prices are as good as anywhere else. Great service too.

I found 20% in the Caribbean is faily easy to get and they always push the tax free aspect.

They will play hardball with you. Pick the watch you want and go for 30%. Settle for what you are comfortable with. If they know you are a serious buyer and not a "window" shopper, they should do everything they can for you. Let them know you can get 25% all day in the states. You prefer to buy here at the 25% because you will not pay taxes. If they can sense you understand the game, you should have no problem.

I believe cash should save an extra 3% or so. If they run a credit card, they will be required to pay the 2 -3% (depending on the card).

Best of luck!

just came back from my honeymoon in the bahamas... little switzerland had a nice selection and you were able to bargain especially if you bring cash (which i lost most of in the casino and the gucci store for my wife - paid in cash there also and saved even more money) luckily my jeweler hooked me up since i get all of my jewelry and sent a bunch of guys i work with to him for engagement rings... got mine pretty much at cost {Avenger chrono w/ metal bracelet $3100 and diver pro 2 strap w/ deployment buckle for $400} they wanted $3800 + $500 for the extra strap at Little Switzerland after bargaining

well, i came back yesterday.
with nothing.
they was no bargaining whatsoever. just 5% off bracelet.
I told them I was serious and wanted to pay cash.
i told them how much i wanted to pay..but they would no move the price..both shopps are owned by the same people.
they ran from one store to the other to bring me a model i was looking for.
both shopp would not move the price that they quoted.
even when i ask what would the lowest price be.
i always got the same answer. the pruce was the same as the Us.
with just no tax bassically.
i think there are better deal out there..so don't make a special trip
to buy a watch.
i was working, so i had to check it out.
the only discount you might get would be on discontinued model.
but the did not have anything in the B1 etc...that i am looking for.

cheers thanks for you input
