I need that watch. I used to be a Star Trek fan.

What do you mean "used do"? :?

Once a Trekkie fan, always a Trekkie.

Gosh, mfserge, that is a thing of beauty.

Tried on a very similar Chopard today... Perpetual calendar, display back, really innovative moon phase, limited edition (111/250, for those who care about LE numbers ;D)... £40k. :'(

Who needs a second kidney, really? Plus I'd have to get something for my spleen, tonsils and appendix, right?

I really wish people would stop posting pics of that watch. Every time I forget about it, it comes back to haunt my dreams. That's gotta be the dumbest looking watch I've ever seen. I even like Roff's binocular looking watch better than that thing.

If I had the means, this would be my watch

The Roger Dubuis Excalibur flying tourbillon

This exact color combo. For me, pure perfection

Nice to see that you were able to pick up got one of the watches that you had previously listed as a grail Serge.

I've been fortunate enough to get 3 of the original 5 that I listed as grails....sadly they're all gone now. I may need to redefine what I consider a grail...although the XXI I really miss!!

To me, that's the joy and the frustration of this little obsession. There are so many fabulous watches out there that it's difficult to maintain a true "grail". (Either that or I have undiagnosed ADD) Add to that the fact that personal tastes change (right now I don't have a single gold piece and I'm not interested in one now) and each year brings a new style or variation, and the concept of a "grail" seems a moving target. If you MUST have a Patek, a ROO or a gold Sub, obviously this is not so much a problem. But the options out there are mind-boggling. The bezel on the Fifty Fathoms has me mesmerized, but I still feel the need for JLC. I didn't even know my Breguet was a grail until I saw it and tried it on. A large basic stainless Royal Oak still has my interest, and there are at least two GOs I really want to spend time with. And though not a grail, I just saw a steal of a stainless Evo show up--if I wasn't tapped right now...AARgh!!

I'm sorry, did you say an obtainable $51k? I think we need to redefine obtainable as opposed to grail.

Was being facetious. 51k is not obtainable for me until I hit the Powerball...or Mega Millions. Then I'll have a 51k watch on all 5 limbs.

the fifth limb may not be bigger enough to wear a watch :uplaugh: :uplaugh:
