If you had the choice(and about a 7.5" wrist)

What would you choose and why? Panerai Sub 305 or the 243

Im a fan of a heavy watch, but does the Titanium in the 305 actually make it lighter then the SS 243? If so that may bother me because I would expect something 47mm to have some weight. Never tried these on btw.

This would def be my future watch(along with the Navi World that should be arriving in the next two months) Never been a real PAM guy but, I LOVE THESE THINGS and the others are growing on me too!

Opinions?

what happend to the bentley 6.75??? i thought you were chasing that for the last little while.

its hard to say what pam is better since it really depends on how it looks to you on your wrist. all i can tell you is that the 44mm pams fit big! no joke...the 312 looks as big as my SA or motors. so 47mm pam might be more size than you think. just get in the store and try it out.

Yup, certainly you want to try it on the metal on your wrist.

If this is your 1st Pam, I'll get the 243. Really can't go wrong. 1000m, and prob one of the most well-loved Sub. If you're considering pre-owned, look for the older Tritium dial which will prob retain its value better. There is one (J series?) which was the last of the T-dial, but has the updated easy strap changing system (just need 2 toothpicks).

On the other hand, the 305 may fit your 7.5" wrist better. I only have 6.75" wrist, but the 47mm Pams fits me much better than 44mm. Afaik the Ti doesn't really make it feel much lighter. The display back is love-it or hate-it, as it makes no sense on a "tool"-submersible -- and it brings the WR down to 300m. The batton markers (despite its historical significance), makes it not very Pam-like in design though...

Well if you suddenly went off the Navi World because of the possibility of an in house one coming later then you probably don't want a 243, because that's not an in house movement either.

I like the look of the 243 since it has the #12 and #6 on the dial but I prefer the in house movement in the 305. Titanium is lighter than SS so I would think the 305 would be lighter. See attached review of the two watches.

Lol... no I'm getting the World in a month or so which I did choose over the 6.75. WORLD WINS!

I was just thinking of something for my 3rd watch...thats all.

Love the subs! Something about dive watches just catches my eye. I tried the 243 on yesterday and LOVE IT! Heavy price tag though! They didn't have the 305 though so I couldn't compare unfortunately.

PS. I tried on another sub (not sure the item number) that closely resembled the 243 but was in titanium. There was not much of a weight difference.

305 every day of the week and twice on Sunday.

243 is awesome - and I wanted one for a long time - but the 305 is incredible.

I wish they had it in stock. The guy from Tourneu said that they pretty much will never supply them since they are near impossible to get. Its one of those thing you just order apparently.

PS. Tourneu customer service was horrendous. Once they realize you will not be buying, they push you out of the store. :guns: Ridiculous!
