Driving lessons.... lots of quick hand movements near a door panel.... presumne you are not good at said movements or it's a track day not a lesson..... G-Shock!

The speed limit. A red light camera and they jacked the yellow light back from 4 seconds to 2 seconds! It's 72 degrees here - not a cloud in the sky and I'm stuck in this until 5PM. You have to pay a $260 fine AND do this crap. What a scam.

@ Shark-If that's all it takes to get a pass into driving school then I imagine it is a pretty popular (read crowded) place. As far as the watch...wear the deep blue. Don't let anyone know what you are really working with.

What part of "I live in Arizona" don't you get??

They put up a camera and reprogram the light sequence to take the yellow light down from 4 seconds to 2 seconds on a 35 mph road. 35 mph = 51.45 feet/sec. So if the light turns yellow when you are 2 seconds from the intersection - that's 103 feet (6 car lengths). 1 second perception/reaction time = 51.45 feet. Which means you must stop without entering the intersection (triggering the camera) in 51.45 feet, which you can't do at 35 mph because the stopping distance is greater than 51 feet. And you can't clear the intersection without triggering the camera if you don't slow. At a regular 4 second yellow, you are through the intersection and on your merry way.


But the municipal judges here don't care about that stuff - it's about income generation.

Well, you're lucky it didn't happen in Switzerland.

Here, if you're a drug dealer you go free if a cop "bothers" you with an arrest, but if you're a common driver you might end up in jail in no time. Not to speak about the fines and that they revoke license for peanuts.
