My wifes birthday has finaly arrived and since she got me a Chronomat some months ago I had to return the favour. She is delighted with her Ling. This from a girl who has never owned a watch.

Very nice! Classy looking piece. I was glad to see them come out with a ladies automatic.
Enjoy and a welcome to your wife to the world of Breitling :lingsrock:

When you guys buy watches for your wives or girlfriends, or both if you are lucky enough, do you usually let them take the lead on design and functionality?

The reason I ask is bc I am thinking about getting the GF a watch, and part of me has to consider what I enjoy might not be something she does. In other words, do you guys think I should stick with Breitling automatics for the little ladies watch, or just let her choose, and stand by to help keep her informed (what would they do without us?)?

I have bought my wife three watches (Rolex DateJust, Tag Heuer Aquaracer, and Citizen Eco-Drive) and she LOVES all three. I picked them out without her knowledge or input (although she had an idea that the Rolex was coming). She loves watches like I do (well maybe not as much as I do but close). She wants a Rolex Yacht Master and I support her totally.

I told my wife I was gonna get her a nice watch for Christmas and she said she already had a nice watch, her Bulova. Not quite what I had in mind but whatever, it'll save me a couple of grand.

Oh yeah, to the OP, I think that's a great looking ladies watch, very classy. I actually was expecting to hate it but it's pretty damn nice.

My wife picked out 2 of her watches, a Movado and her white Michele tahitian Jelly. Since she can't wear the white watch in the winter, I picked up the same model for her in black, although the larger 39mm size. She says it's OK, but I think she would have rather had the smaller one. If I was buying her something more expensive, I'd let her pick it out.

To the OP, that's a great looking watch. The brushed bezel does make a world of difference. Wear it in good health.

Beautiful. I tried on one over the weekend and loved it; it's a very classy piece, and just the right size on her wrist, I think. Nice purchase.
