I have to admit I am really torn about the Panerai line. I love the looks and size but wonder is it a fad that will go away or are they really here to stay. I totally like the look though and really am considering going against my thoughts and buying one. The 312 is my top pick. Nice watch.

what exactly do you mean by fad? as in 10 years they will be obsolete? it is a valid question. a while back i was talking to a jeweler about it and he said "Pam is a good watch but IMO they peaked in 2006" never really gave that much thought until i read your post. i mean there is a long history with the company and they seem to be making pieces that look timeless. but im no watch expert so its hard for me to tell if they will fall off 10 years from now.

And I am not an expert either. I just get a weird feeling about them but I really like their looks and craftsmanship.

cant say that i blame you. i really am starting to like Panerai more and more. the only thing that i can say is that they do have a SERIOUS cult like following. So even if they did fall off the map from the mainstream I think the hardcore enthusiasts would still follow them.
