Hi all, newbie here after a bit of help.

My old man was given a Breitling from King Hussain of Jordan whilst touring with the Red Arrows, he wore it constantly, but managed to break the glass on the front and as a result the digital readout went as well. I'd love to get it repaired for him for his birthday, but he tells me Breitling wont do it.

Apologies for the quality of the photos, had to use the camera phone as the camera batteries were flat!

Can anyone point me to somewhere that could?

thanks all

Alistair

It's not that Breitling won't do it - they can't because the movement is no longer available. The only option is to find another donor watch and use the movement from that, however that will also be a 20+ year old movement and sooner or later that won't work. Unfortunately that's the problem with these early quartz pieces.

I get confused with the movement numbers in these (there are a bunch of similar models with different movements), but if you post the model number from the back (likely starts 80) we'll be able to provide the movement number and the names of some other watches that use the same movement that may work as donors.

There's a 2400 currently for sale on eBay

Worth dropping Sonyman a PM as he occasionally has these movements.
