If this ad didn't say it was a replica, I would have thought it to be the real deal.

Anyone able to spot anything in the pics that lets on this is a fake?

Must say I have to agree with you,the only thing that catches my tired eyes is on the luminous photo, the anchor fluke seems too far from the tail of the ''B'' on the centre sweep, the quality of the 30 on the bezel and the angle of the 11 minute tick on the 30 minute dial,I expect to be shot down in flames but I'm still on a learning curve.Cheers.

Easy give-away is that the minute ticks at 1 and 46 should be short, not long.

I've only ever seen one version which had all the cardinal ticks of the correct length so that's always my check on the EVO.

The Chonomat and Steelfish are the spooky good fakes out there. I did notice rounded screws on the bracelet. I've handled one of these good Chronamat fakes and whe only obvious give away is the feel of the bracelet. It doesn't move as smoothly - a tad stiffer than the real deal. Other than that - quite accurate.

I agree, Steelfish fakes are pretty good but they're still very easy to spot. Esp. the bracelet versions.

Genuine Fish has recessed SELs and all fakes have completely different look. The replica SELs look sloppy and they're usually sitting on par with the lug height. The dial colors white and blue aren't even close.

Don't I know it!!!! I keep promising myself I'll get round to doing a serious update but never seem to find the time. Maybe a re-vamp for the new year!

Yes indeed there are tells. The biggest tell on the blue Steelfish is the dial color as I have written here many times. No one has been able to replicate "Steelfish Blue." But you have to KNOW Steelfish Blue.

The white(silver) dial SF color is very well replicated. Difference side by side - some, not much. I've compared a very good one against my white dial Fish.

Again, of course there are tells. We on this site pick apart fake Steelfish frequently. The feel of the bracelet (As I indicated above). Stamping shadows on the clasp underside. Rounded bracelet screws. The shape of the "S" on the script Steelfish. Date font. Lume is a big tell. On the other hand the case is perfect. The crystal is usually perfectly done with no distortion at oblique angles. The case back is good.

What is discernable to those of us fortunate enough to own these great watches and frequent forums where we are educated is not really noticable by the unwary or less knowedgable and that includes certain ADs who have taken a fake SF in trade or purchase. That is what makes them "spooky good," not that we here can tell the difference.
