There is a fake of the 50th Anniversary but its not very good.

I'm not 100% about the packaging, but the bakelite box and outer cardboard box look typical of the ones Breitling used in the late 1990s and early 2000s.

Almost everything in the photos is genuine and correct. Except that the outer carton was all yellow on both my 50th Anniversaries. I don't think this matters much though. Also, i have an additional "50 years of Navitimer" booklet with my box set.

Typically i think the 50thAnniv was made between 2002 and 2003, possibly 2004.

The 50th anniversary piece (and this may come as a shock) was only produced for the 50th anniversary of the Navitimer

Regardless of any discussions in the vintage section on when the first Navitimers were produced, Breitling's official stance is that the Navitimer ws introduced in 1952 and so the 50th anniversary piece was produced in 2002.

Agreed.

Maybe I should have made my explanation clearer. It is not uncommon to see Warranty cards dated between 2002 - 2003, possibly 2004.

Not to suggest that the watch was not made in 2002. IIRC, both of mine had 2002 stamps between the strap lugs.

Warranty is based on sale date, not manufacture date, so that's why there are differences.

This style of box was used between 1999-2003. The yellow boxes were introduced in 2002. Hope this helps. Steve
