ok,cool topic. Obviously i'm huge star wars fan so here goes...

Star Wars. All of them. ( Yes even the newer ones. I hate it when people rip on the newer ones. They were great movies)
Forest Gump
Star Trek 2
Training Day
Clerks

Note: this list cold change at any time. This is what I feel today.

Caddyshack and Animal House were hard to keep off my list. A list which has changed since this morning thanks to all the great movies mentioned.

This one's almost impossible for me answer. I'm a huge movie fan, and my DVD/BluRay collection is well over a 1500 now, so narrowing it down to the top 5 is seriously tough!

If I just answer it in terms of the movies I've seen the most, then it'll probably look something like -

1. Star Wars (the 3 originals)
2. Predator
3. Top Gun
4. Bram Stoker's Dracula
5. Point Break

Running these 5 pretty close would be, Aliens, The Lost Boys, Raiders Of The Lost Ark, The Matrix (the original one only!), Dark City, Saving Private Ryan, and Goodfellas.

None of those are exactly "high brow" but they are damn entertaining IMO!

It's always funny how most people's favourite movies are almost "guilty pleasures"! I guess it shows that while a lot of popular films are scoffed at by critics for lacking depth or character development ot whatever, most people just want to be entertained for a couple of hours.

Agree with Driver, this is impossible for me to answer. My top 5 would change completely every week (probably depending on my frame of mind).

But, I am shocked :wowzers that I haven't seen these mentioned yet -

Full Metal Jacket
Office Space
E.T.
Toy Story
Team America
Oceans 11 (original or remake)
Bourne Identity
Apocalypse Now
16 Candles
Fast Times at Ridgemont High
The Departed
Poltergeist
The Exorcist
A Beautiful Mind
Castaway
2001 A Space Odyssey
Blair Witch Project
The Shining
Hellraiser (just pretend the sequels never happened)

and my latest favorite - The Town.

Full Metal Jacket and 16 Candles have to be two of the most quoted movies ever (behind Godfather I & II). So many great lines.

No more yanky my wanky! The Donger need food!

I'd put Animal House, Caddyshack, and Fast Times at Ridgemont High above 16 Candles in the most quoted category.

I totally agree... Sgt Hartman's lines in that movie were hilarious....especially the boot camp scene. They're too vulgar to quote but they were great lines!

I hadn't seen the other one when I posted this - just thought it was a great line.
