Does anybody else find themselves placing their watch under lamps by lamps ect to charge the luminous before leaving at night?
Sometimes when leaving work ill even put my watch infront of my headllights just to see it glow on the ride home...
im just trying to make sure im not the only dork who does this.

Yep and looking for a small UV flashlight, just takes a few seconds to get a full charge. I know Ocean7 gave them away with a watch purchase last year but I can't seem to find a small inexpensive light!

I have a UV flashlight that I use. Charges up in seconds! You can ususally buy them at a store that sells hunting supplies as it is used to track blood from a wounded animal. I got mine from a pet store where it is helpful to spot a hidden dog mess (if you know what I mean). Be careful though - do not look at it directly.

I've had alot of watches that light up like a torch only to last 5 minutes, Breitlings lume isnt the brightest but it will last all night long! :lingsrock:

I buy the small multi-bulb LEDs that you can get at check out area of places like Walgreen's for about $5 each. They are just about the same size as most watch dials and give a full night charge in about 20 seconds.

I think I have one in every room - and my vehicle!! Since they run on 3 AAA batteries, I buy in bulk.

Thanks Sharkman, I have one of those at work in my box I use for various things when testing night vision, never knew it had a UV component. Awesome!

I assume it is the white colored LEDs?

I like your style Sharky

I used one of the small led bulbs for the first time last night, and I can see where it might be fun to do it pretty often

That's your eyes, not the watch.

It's been discussed before, but virtually all of the swiss manufacturers use the same luminous compound - super lumniova. The only differences are in the area coated and the number of coatings. The properties of SL vary with colours, but are otherwise identical. The problem with observing lume is that it takes your eyes time to adjust, the lume that only lasts 5 minutes will actually last all night, but your eyes need to adjust to it.

If you charge your watch before you turn the lights out for the night, then go to sleep and wake up several hours later (while it's still dark), you'll be amazed at the visibility of the dial.
