Yesterday my first AD started the 2 day "Watch Days" with all the brand reps and catered by Capitol Grill - how could I not go?

I came across this Chopard. My daughter is a 19 year old college student in Manhatten. I've been noticing watches on young women and it seems white strap are "in." So I picked up this "Happy Sport" with full return pirvileges.

What do you think of this for a young lady (she is still a "girl" to me!). There are replacement straps I can get in a multitude of colors. Since there are 3 diamonds, I'm thinking of engraving it - "Past, present, future - forever special. Love, Dad." It's 36mm, so not "old lady small."

Sorry for the cell phone pick!

I really like it, not a huge fan of the three diamonds at the bottom though. I am assuming she lives in a safer part of Manhattan? Being 22, I have noticed that a lot of women around my age, maybe a little older too, are really into the white Chanel J12.

Great choice Sharky! The ladies love Chopard and the Happy Sport models are very popular, my niece has a similar model and she loves it!

The three floating diamonds is a unique touch and it adds to the sparkle, which is important for the younger girls, you gotta have bling!

I am sure she will treasure it forever.

I'm almost embarrased to say the "floating diamonds" were cool. They don't just float, then are mounted in something so when they move, they spin/rotate - pretty fast.

Morningside Heights - upper west side. The diamonds float and spin when the watch moves. From normal distance it doesn't look too obvious.

Funny, I was looking at the Chanel white watches when the saleperson told me Chanel doesn't discount - period! I said, "How the hell does their watch division stay in business??" A tall blonde behind the counter spun around, glared at me, and looked away. The Chanel rep!! Ooopss.

Not sure my daughter is either, but with all the goings on at the AD yesterday I got a serious ITCH. It felt good to spend the $$ on my daughter rather than me. And after a nice discount it only cost the same as 2 monthly tuition payments.

I obviously don't know your daughter, but I suspect that it's 'cool' enough for her to like now and classic enough for her to appreciate for many years to come. The diamonds give it a unique look that definitely separates it from the crowd - and I like the past, present, future idea.

Looks like a great choice for a young woman. It's not too watch "geeky" so she can just appreciate the look of it, but it's still a great watch. I like the floating diamond thing too, an interesting feature that should keep her occupied while sitting in a boring-ass class.

I'm 30 but can you adopt me, a Lum-Tec like Driver's would be a great Christmas present.

At her age and demo she will love this thing. That is a real headturner of a watch.

I think she'll like it. Very nice.

The "white watch" thing is a legitimate trend for women. Really starting seeing it this Summer. I even got my girlfriend a cheapo DKNY one in June. Not sure if the watch fits with Fall or Winter fashion, but at the very worst she'll have a beautiful Summer watch.

Throw a brown or black strap on it and she'll be good to go.

Yeah I plan to let her choose a second look - they have multiple colors in both the rubber and alligator.

As for the seasonal color issue, I had to chuckle. She's all college student - not much of a fashionista. I gave her a choice - take the full ride to the Honors college at U of Arizona and I'll buy you a shiny new car or do your Ivy League deal, find you own wheels, and get a job to buy your own clothes.

It didn't work. Damn!!
