I have recently come across a trade opportunity and I wanted to get some advice frommy fellow WIS.

I have found the Lemania Cossie I want, and the guy is interested in a trade for my SOH46. Is this a pretty reasonable offer on both ends? I am pretty sure the Cossie is in need of a service judging fromthe pics, but I think that may be for the best, bc for a few hundred bucks I could get a brand new watch back from Breilting.

I really love the SOH, but I can always replace that down the road.

Anyhow I will post a link, and feel free to give a thumbs up or down.

Very nice looking watch.
I just have one slight reservation. Does the lume look a bit raised and not that even around the outside????? Navis notoriously not good around water! If you are getting a good deal it is a beautiful watch, knowing the model number it could date back to 1992!
Only saying all this because if you do get it serviced the bill might be on the high side and might not make the deal as good as it seems!

What ever you do it is a very classy looking watch with the blue dial and SS bracelet.

Good luck with your decision!!

Depending on the deal been a good one for you, its a big thumbs up from me!

It's from the 90s, and it is a nice watch, but not sure whether it is a great trade. The DB version of these goes for around $3,000 or so usually. Considering the service needs it could be an expensive buy.

What you think any issues about the dial/lume?

I realy like the blue dial, and it takes away the feeling that this would just be a second Navi in the collection. I wasnt too thrilled about two black dials, but have been chomping at the bit for a manual wind to pop up.

The fact that I could do a face to face is really just icing on the cake.

I have seen these for as low as $2200, so if I assume a $500 service cost, and a trade value of $1700-1800 for the SOH I think I would still be coming out pretty good. Maybe not a huge upgrade, but certainly not a downgrade (after service that is)

Plus I hear that the Navi bracelet is THE bracelet to have. factoring in a rubber strap for the bracelet exchange makes this deal stand out to me.

Yeah that's true - that will help.

@breanach78 - I don't see anything wrong with the dial / lume.

I don't think its an even trade. I believe you just got the SOH46 not too long ago, you would be trading a damn near perfectly new watch for a watch that could have problems. The service alone would make me not want to Trade for it. Would you buy a car knowing there was something it needed , in order for it to run properly? The service on the SOH46 is gonna be cheaper than the Navi. I used to have a navitimer heritage black face, it was a awesome watch , just never wanted to get it wet. Just my 2 cents.

O' and let me know when you wanna get rid of that Brooks Bag :D

Sound like you have your mind made up!

As you say you will practically have a new watch when it comes back from service.

And the blue dial looks very good on it.

Well the deal is not going to happen....after speaking further the extra cash he was looking for was just a bit much for the watch.

I would have preffered a straight trade, but even a bit ($200 or so) of cash on top would have been fine, since I really really want a 24 hour dial. Seller wanted $750 extra, so I politely passed.

However if the price stays put I may just buy it, but I am assuming it will jump as the auction winds down

Offer him a Buy It Now. He knows you now and might close for decent BIN price. No harm in trying!!!

He is pretty sure his is going to sell in the $2500 range. He was even comparing it to other cossies, albeit newer automatic ones.

You stated you can do a face to face transaction so that should keep PP out of the picture for him. So make your offer for a cash sale.

without the trade I am just not 100% on parting with the 2 large in cash, so I just let it be.

That being said.... Through our conversation he mentioned that he is in the process of opening a second hand watch boutique and they should be up and running here in a couple of weeks starting off with a grand opening type event. He directed me to the Facebook page and it seems like it may be a cool thing.

As many of you know I am a believer in the second hand market, and the huge savings that can be had. I am not one to just go to the AD and piddle around when I know that even with a 20% discount I will not be able to swing the price, so I usually just stay away, especially after the only AD within 100 miles told me they don't discount "at all".

Anyhow, this may be a cool way to see some nice watches and a chance to learn a thing or two.

Sounds interesting. I always thought the ADs should have a substantial 'used' section but most that I have been to don't want to deal with them. May be a unique concept if they can pull it off and make money. Where abouts will they be located in Texas?

If these guys are who I think they are they should be in Frisco, a Dallas suburb.
