I ordered a Diver Pro II rubber strap with tang buckle from my AD on Friday. Went to collect it today but to my dismay the buckle was brushed. My watch has a polished case and it looks a bit odd with a brushed buckle.

When I pointed this out to the salesman he told me this was the only option available.
Since it was a special order I had no option but to accept the strap.

So is it true that the Diver Pro only comes with a brushed buckle?

They call that being lied to. Take it up with the manager.

Crikey yet another AD employing people who know jack about watches.

Not quite up there with the time I over-heard a salesgirl telling a customer that as part of the testing process, "all Breitling watches are baked at literally hundreds of degrees for days on end to test their timekeeping". Hmmmmm, Ok then.

So it seems the saleguy BS'd me

Tbh I tried to refuse the strap and asked for a refund, but he said that because it was a special order, the store does not honour refunds or exchanges.

I didn't pursue it that hard as I wasn't sure if what he was telling me was true or not.
Now I know it wasn't.

Will go back to the store this weekend and complain.

Thing is what do I base my argument on?
When I checked the official Breitling pricelist, there only appears to be one listing for buckle; 'Steel'.
He might try and fob me off and say this is the brushed version only.

Anyone got any pics of a rubber strap with a polished buckle?

Simply contact another AD and confirm they supply polished (which they do), Then go back to your ad and provide that info, Id ask for the manager and take it from there. It never ceases to amaze me the incompetence of some of the staff selling high end watches

Tell him its not the one you ordered and you only accepted it because he strong armed you into it and misled you to believe that it was the only option. He may be able to order you a buckle by itself. If not, ask him to order you a polished strap at dealer cost. I dont think youll have much trouble selling the brushed one to recoup your money. Of course, this all assumes that he is unwilling to just take back the brushed one and order you a polished one.
