Hi all

I'm going to be in NYC (from overseas) in December and I'm looking to buy a Breitling. I've heard good things about Jomashop, but I've read a few posts here suggesting there are authorized dealers around who can match their prices and offer proper warranties etc etc. Can anyone point me in the right direction?

I would go to Phili and check out Govberg jewlers, Phili is only an hour ride away and well worth it. I live in Manhattan and the prices are sky high, I picked up a nice breitling 1461 jours from govberg with no complaints.

I live in NYC as well and Endless is correct, prices are as high as they can be. Govbergs is well know in this forum and held in very high regard. That is your best bet.

You might also want to take into consideration the sales tax. Which, correct me if I am wrong, is close to 9 or 10%. So higher prices and higher taxes means you lose more money! Consider the trip to philli.

NYC is great for window shopping, but not for buying (especially if you are a NYS resident). I would bet that most of the buyers at NYC ADs are tourists.

Thanks to everyone for the prompt advice. I have contacted Govbergs and will let you know how I go. One way or another I hope to be able to post some photos of a watch on my wrist by year's end!

So we're in agreement that the best place to buy a watch in NYC is in Philadelphia!

Hilarious when you think about it. For the record, Philly and NYC are like 2 hours apart (closer to 3 in trafffic)

I'll let them have the better watch shops. I'll take the better baseball team anyday. :cigar2:

Uh huh. We shall see... I am originally from Philadelphia - you got away with one last year! Don't think you'll be so lucky this year :guns: :guns:

OK, sorry for the hijacking.
