Hi all!

Bought a Brietling Grand Premier cause I liked the way the watch looked at Tourneau. However very little information on the watch across the net and even less in the forums. What are the thoughts of the forum on this watch?

PS they want me to return the watch b/c tourneau had it listed as an aviastar (model is A13024 and the Gpremier is A13024.1) and they say they sold me the wrong watch. I just bought it cause I liked it! Strange

They keep on sending call tags!

Is there a big price differential between the watch you have and the original tag on the watch? I guess morally if the diffential were that great, then do not return the watch, but at least pay the differential. I mean someone's ass is gonna be responsible for that tag fuck up. You wouldn't want to be responsible if you were in that situtation. Someone could lose their job and livelyhood over a simple mistake. Remember karma, what goes around, comes around.

I looked it up in an old pricelist, both watches had the same price with the same bracelet (at least in Austria). Both watches where only available for a very short periode. They did not sell really well.

The Grand Premier specifically was only made for 1 year. I actually would really like to get my hands on a Grand Premier one day.

The Breitling Grand Premier II is an extremely rare watch, here is the story :
In 1997 Breitling discover 2,000 Grand Premier movements in a Breitling Vault. These Movements were Circa 1940 and were thought to have been pre-WWII production. At the time they decided to re-manufacture the Grand Premier as the GPII. These were released quietly and were to be monitored in the future to see how they sold. Also they were interested as the outcome of the New Old Stock movements impact. These watches were originally sold in the range of $1,850.00 to $2,250.00 US dollar range, I purchased one in 1999 for $1,950.00. I originally wanted a Breitling Montbrillant, but as a watch collector I could not pass up the opportunity to own a new Breitling watch with a vintage movement.

I cannot see the point of your post: the GP does not have a vintage movement, it has the ETA-Valjoux 7750. Correct me if I'm wrong. BTW this IS a beautiful watch. I have the off-white dial version, planning to get the black too.

Yep, the Grand Premier comes with the usual Breitling Cal 13 (7750) movement. Sold mine a couple of weeks ago.
