Hi,

I'm from London and looking to purchase a Breitling wach and I was wondering if any of you know what kind of price I would be looking at to purchase a watch in the states. I am going to New York in a few weeks and, as the price of them in London are between £2000 to £3,500, I wanted to know if it was worth waiting until I go to the states.

Thanks for any advice and honest answers welcome. :D

Which models are you looking at? Perhaps get a copy of the latest Chronolog and we can compare prices.

MUCH MUCH Cheaper!!!!

Look counting in value of strong pound, and the fact AD discount, you will be surprized!! The only problem is buying form there is the customs when you bring it back if you declare it you pay 17.5% on the value.

If you do not declare it that is another thing, and if you walk through the green terminal and they stop you they will still charge you if they find... the following items on you

Your watch box....
your Reciept....
your Certificate (this is debatable)
They can also if they are suspicious ask for you accounts to check if purchase has been made!!

alternatively... well better not post anymore...

Thanks for that guys,

I'm looking to get a Breitling Avenger Skyland or a Chrono Superocean and the price that they have said are in the regions of £2350 to £2500, which would be around $5000.

I am new to Breitling so any advice to what other models would be good. I do a lot of work on the sea so has to def survive with water.

So, what kind of price would I be looking at in New York for these watches?

Thanks :)

The Avenger Skyland is a very popular watch here so I'm sure you'll get lots of good responses to that.

As for prices they are due to increase (if not already) in the US. If you don't have a copy of Chronolog then take a look at Prestige Time for a list of MSRPs.
http://www.prestigetime.com/breitling.html

The Avenger Skyland is listed at $3920
The Chrono SuperOcean is listed (with leather strap) at $3270.

You shouldn't have any problems getting at least a 15% discount on these watches in the US. My local AD said they do 15% off without me even haggling!

As for other watches, well we are Breitling fans so all of them are good  Expect to see a few particular recommendations for:
Super Avenger $3995
Chronomat Evolution $5100
Superocean Steelfish $2520

IMO best to go for the one that you like the most. Go to the AD, try a few on. Don't feel the pressure to buy 'the Full Ling' as many describe them here. If you like the Super Avenger or Avenger Skyland then great, buy what you want!

(The prices listed are for the stainless bracelet unless noted)
