I just received through a purchase a second-hand Breitling chronomat, produced in 2004. It had been serviced several months ago. Upon correcting the date yesterday (I tried twice, once at 5:00 PM and again at 7:00 AM), I noticed that the date begins to change at around 3:00 AM, instead of around 10:45-11:00 PM as with my other Chronomats.

Can anyone suggest why this might be and what I can do to try to correct it?

Thanks.

Date change mechanism is messed.
It needs to go to service.

Likely :yeahthat

Very small chance that the hands are simply set incorrectly, but I doubt it.

I was afraid of that. Was hoping it might be a special late nighter's edition, but I guess not. Thank you!

If it was recently serviced, it will have a warranty at least for a year, they must repair it for free.

It is totally wrong to have the calendar Changing at 3 AM.

Regards

Alex

Not if they can show that it changes at 3am because of user negligence (using the quickset date between 8pm and 3am). They likely will repair it under warranty, but Breitling would be entirely within their rights to refuse in those circumstances.
