Of course if you'd asked this question on a Raymond Weil forum (is there such a thing?) you'd have got the opposite answer!!

i looked at a few RW's before i got the breilting and you cant compare the quality, the cheaper RW's like the freelancer range are nice but and a decent priced but for the same money I would get a breitling every time

You can't compare.

Raymond Weil are decent watches and they can be acquired at deep discount. I see them at stores in the malls selling for several hundred dollars new - no Breitling sells for that little money.

RW resale value is way too low, I recently bought nice looking RW for $200 (pre-owned, in great condition) as wife's BDay present.

If you like RW - go for it, but I would not spend more than $400-500 on it.

Raymond Weil Nabucco Baselworld 2009 : 35.700$... http://www.watchsource.eu/raymond-weil/ ... res-price/
Raymond Weil Nabucco Cuore Caldo : 12.100$... http://www.watchsource.eu/raymond-weil/ ... res-price/
Raymond Weil Nabucco Rivoluzione : 25.000€... http://www.watchsource.eu/raymond-weil/ ... res-price/
Raymond Weil Freelancer Black 8 : even more expensive than the one's above... http://www.watchsource.eu/raymond-weil/ ... -pictures/

Even at extreme discounts these are not cheap watches imho.

Don't know about Omega, probably. They are grey market so get their watches like every other grey market place - buying from ADs and then selling on.

Hello Toro2000,

Sorry to say, but why do You ask for Raymond Weil in a Breitling forum, and what answer do You expect? Here You will get only pro Breitling answers from Breitling fans. There is hardly a Raymond Weil fan on this forum.

I am selling both brands in my store, and have to admit, there are worlds between them, specially comparing image, product design and pricing. The average RW sells for a third of the price of the average Breitling. RW is a brand, that is mainly selling quarz watches, but they also have a few nice mechanical ones, but only with ETA movements. Both companies are family owned. Breitling by Mr. Schneider, RW by Mr. Bernheim (whom I recently met personally), and who both are quite good friends, as far as I know. The quality of RW watches is ok for the price range. The image is something, they have still got a lot of work to do.

To help Your decision: There is an old saying by Platon (Greek philosopher): When You have the choice between two things, do it like the children, take both!

BG
Thomas

I have seen honest points for other brands here. Most here will always recognize a superior or eqivalent brand (model dependant) even if they don't personally appreciate its aesthetics. ie. Patek, IWC, Rolex, mind you not all but at least some. RW I see on the same grade as TAGs, desirable but not elite or specialized.

cheers
