The cases are nearly identical, just because you change the color or make some limited edition pieces doesn't make it unique or different than the original mfg. If I bought a pair of nike shoes, put a ton of different colors on them or made a breitling edition, it would still be a ripoff of the nike shoes whether it was branded by a different name or not. How they have not been sued is beyond me. Just my opinion.

I think Hublot makes some neat looking watches, some of which look very similar to the ap roo. I also agree I'd probably fork over the extra cash and get the AP since, well, it is an AP.

BUT, I really dig this one:

Interesting...

Just signed up for *ahem* another account on the "other" forum and was checking out the different watch brand forums...

Apparently the customer service is pretty good for these pieces... a few guys on there that post their purchases and Mr. Biver often signs on himself and offers handwritten extended warranties and congratulating his customers...

Kinda nice if you ask me...

Biver has done an exceptional job of marketing the Hublot brand. Their F1 connection disgusts me, but it's brilliant from a business standpoint. I personally think Hublot is entirely overpriced for what it is . . . a generic ETA movement. I will never own one.

For $25,000, you can probably get Obama to write you a letter.

Considering he was President of the Havard Law Review, I think he could pull it off

I am by no means a fan of Obama (in fact the exact opposite), but this is the last thing that I want to discuss on this forum...not to mention it is WAY off the topic of the OP.

My $.02 on Hublot is that they look ok, but are not worth the money for what you get. There are A LOT of other options out there that are more attractive, have in-house movements, AND are less money.

I recently acquired a big bang king power from my father, and i have been enjoying it very much so. But during the past few months, i have been receiving a great amount of criticism from several people of all age groups. "Waste of money!" "pseudo-luxury garbage!" etc. Let me be clear: i don't wear watches to impress other people, and usually don't mind criticism, but the amount of negative feedback i have been receiving when i wear my hublot is a bit concerning. Where did this negative feedback originate from? Why all the hate? Lastly, what is your take on hublot? Also, from what i understand, other makers such as panerai are receiving similar criticism...... :?

lei, if I was to acquire a big bank king power from anyone, I would be over the moon. Much more so from my father! Huge congrats to you, and glad you're enjoying it so very much! Take a good care of it! :D

I personally love both the AP and the Hublot brand

for me it would be a toss up between the AP ROOS Bumblebee and the Hublot Red Devil.

The AP would win in this circumstance BUT love both these watches!
