what color is your SA and what do people normally say?

It's actually not a SA, but the regular Avenger. I have the stratus silver dial, and when you couple it with the polished bracelet it can tend to get a little on the "blingy" side (thus why it is usually on brown croco). Most of the people comment that they really like my watch, but they have no idea who it is made by. I have actually had a couple of people tell me it is the nicest watch they have ever seen (guess they don't get out much).

Honestly I would rather nobody noticed my watches...I buy them for my own personal enjoyment. The main reason I took the Avenger off of the bracelet is that I thought it was a little too over the top. I think the bracelet is beautiful, but I feel that it draws more attention to it. If I had it to do over I would probably purchase the black dial. It is more subtle IMO.

I get comments and stares at times. I dont seek them out, but it doesnt bother me much.

I remember staring at other peoples watches a few years ago when I couldn't quite afford to own them myself!

I get comments on my B's somewhat often. But the one thing I hate is when people look at my watch and say that's a nice watch, how much did it cost? Before they even know what kind it is. Of my all time favorite, "What time is it," as they point to their bare wrist? I tell them, "It's time to buy a watch!"

One of the funniest things I have read about WIS is
"when a pretty girl walks into a room a WIS looks at her boyfriends wrist before anything else. hahahah

I try to refrain from staring sometimes but the curiosity usually gets the best of me

I put down hardly ever on both counts. It's a good thing that I buy these beautiful timepieces for personal pleasure and satisfaction. And look at all the fun we have!
Cheers,
Carl

In the first hour I wore my BB I got 4 comments about it, but I was in Vegas. A couple of people asked if it was the Chronomat, which kinda surprised me. There was some idiot working at one of those Kiosks in the mall who yelled out form 15 feet away "Hey, nice shiny Breitling. Want me to polish it for you?", that kinda pissed me off because he actually yelled it. After that I knew the polished bracelet was a little too shiny for me, so now I keep it on the brown calf and nobody notices it. My Mom didn't even notice it and she can usually spot expensive shit from a half-mile away.

No. Not everyone is into watches, in fact I would argue that most people that I know aren't remotely into watches at all. I get the odd comment and look (that I notice) but mostly it's me doing the looking.

Most comments about my watches come from people at work(hospital). Often asked, who makes that and how much does it cost? Up until last week I had only seen one Breitling at work. Well, last week during morning meeting, where i get most comments, there were several Breitlings in the room.

:yeahthat It doesn't surprise me at all to be honest.

I put down "hardly ever" for both. Firstly as Tim said, very few people are into watches that much, and as a result it's only WIS who will notice, unless you are shoving it right under someone's nose.

Secondly I personally tend to keep my watches hidden away under my shirt sleeve most of the time, as trying to show them off really isn't my thing. I buy watches for me and me alone, so whether other people notice or not is neither here nor there for me. And to be honest I hate trying to explain a) my interest in watches, and b) the price, to anyone who isn't into it themselves. Way too much hassle, and answering the good old "How can you justify spending that much on a watch when my £30 Timex does the job" question just irritates me.

This thread should be a 'must read' for those people who buy expensive watches in the hope that it will somehow make them look more impressive and successful. It honestly doesn't.
