Spouse has always wanted a vintage Breitling tank style watch but they're often tough to track down. The usual fakes from South America but nothing I would touch. Found this close one last week in France and bought it. Nice piece from 1947 according to the serial number. Attached an nos Swiss NSA bracelet (Breitling supplier) that I had sitting around for a few years but I have a black Croc strap too if the wife prefers it. This is a mans watch at about 25mm square but a nice size for a woman now. Some plating loss to the top of the lugs but not bad for 63 years old and running well. I also have a stainless Breitling tank coming from Argentina (I know, I know) but it's in rough shape so no chance it's a recreation. Will post before and after shots of that when it's done.

Nice pick up Paul.

Interesting to see Incabloc on such an early piece too.

Craig just got finished with restoring my 1951 Breitling tank style I picked up out of Argentina. Sometimes you can find a genuine watch down there if you look hard enough. It got the movement overhauled along with new main spring, dial redone, new crystal & new hands. Originally a mans watch but the wife is eagerly awaiting it's arrival. A couple of before and an after shot.
