For some of us that are noobs or arent up to speed on Breitling in general,
Do you think that some of the limited models made by breitling in 1000, 2000, 3000 increments
hold their value better than others? or even go up in value to some extent?

(One in particular I have my eye on is the Montbrilliant Legende Limited)

Some hold their value a little bit better. Very rarely will any go up in value.

I would not buy any Breitling LE's with the anticipation that they will increase in value. Take a look at the sales forum here if you want any examples.

You would be hard pressed to find any modern Breitling that has gone up in value from new.

Look at it this way... Unless the number of watches made is in the 100's then how limited is it really? E-Bay has made just about any version you want accessible almost immediately.

Display back Navitimer

I'd guess this is one Breitling which probably has held it's value pretty well.

Pity it's not the Japanese version which is my all time favourite Breitling.

Still not great investments in real terms though. Don't see enough of these to form a trend, but the regular DB Cosmo sells for around the $2,500 - $3,000 mark depending on exchange rates - likely more than it sold for when new 15+ years ago in absolute $ terms, but not when inflation is factored in.

Some Limited Editions may even cost less.

I was able to buy a Frecce Tricolori LE Chronomat Evolution (I think they made 3000 of them) on eBay - complete package with all papers for substantially less than regular Evo.

I also saw auctions for Navitimers with team logos (can't remember which one) closing for less than average market price for a pre-owned Navi.

Yeah, that's fairly common with logo versions resale - it becomes specialist appeal so fewer potential buyers.

Exactly my line of thought...Perhaps the fact that Breitling replaces their logo-wings with some obscure logo also reduces appeal to potential buyers.

With everything said, the display back Navitimer is a nice watch. Would love to find one for sale.
