Hi Folks!!

Just a quick pointer to anyone from Ireland or indeed anyone who may be interested.

I called my local AD and requested a price on a new SA with SS bracelet and black Dial. I was quoted €3,400. When I tried to negotiate a deal I was told that due to its scarcity (6 mths to order) I couldnt get 1!!! Shortly after I called another AD and was told same waiting time but price was €3,100.

Got some helpfull advice from a friendly user in here and checked out www.authenticwatches.com

They have them in stock now for a great price of €2,300!! Has anyone got any experience in dealing with this company?? I was amazed at the saving here. Is it too good to be true??

Any advise welcome, thank you in advance!

I have made some business with them and there's a write-up in the feedback section.

Yes they are cheap, but it comes with several warnings:

* Some of their watches have removed serials. Make sure that your object has the description "Manufacturers Serial Numbers".

* Even if they have intact serials, you will not get all the paperwork. They will keep the warranty card and issue their own warranty card. In some cases they will also keep the COSC, even if there's no sense in keeping it.

If these two things concern you, avoid them. If you plan on keeping the watch for a very long time it might be ok (however servicing the watch is difficult without the serials). If you intend to sell the watch it'll decrease your sales price dramatically.

I paid just over 2K gbp from my local dealer (who had one in the window!)

If I was you, I'd work my way through the uk AD list and find one with stock...then expect 10-15% for cash....worth the ferry ride!

The best peace of mind is always the AD - you might look at the price difference as an insurance...

Regarding an online dealer, there's also jomashop and prestigetime that seems to get good reviews in this forum. I haven't dealt with them myself though. The best thing to do is to send them an e-mail and ask what paperwork that will follow the specific watch you're interested in. You will both get the answer and an opinion (from the response time) if you want to give them your business.

kenseymour,

There is another place that several of us here have purchased Lings at and they have NO PROBLEMS at all. Authenticwatches.com comes with some minor problems if you are out of the US from what I have heard. These guy's here at www.interwatches.com are great but they are out of SA's right now. However if you keep checking their site they usually get more every month or so. You have NOTHING to worry about with these guy's I have purchased 2 Super Avengers from them and you can read about it in the Feedback section.

kenseymour,
My mate has used www.watchfinder.co.uk and got a great deal for his Nav World.
Ask for Johnathan, he knows his stuff.
They are in the UK and with todays exchange rates you WILL get a good deal, and full warranty papers etc....
