I realize this is simple stuff for all the horologists on here, but other newbs like me might find it interesting to see the innards of a mechanical watch enlarged and explained.

Plus the narrator has one of those cool 1940-50s era bomb safety voices. Its the 'in the event of an atomic bomb, get under your desk' guy...

It was posted a while back. By D8 maybe? Dont remember for sure. Anyway, great video. Its about as good as it gets for a simple explanation of something that can seem completely perplexing to some of us.

Yep it was me. :) It was a long time ago though, so the thread has probably drifted a number of pages down the list.

Still a great video though and probably a good time to re-highlight it. :thumbsup:

I've never seen that documentary before. It was brilliant, thanks for posting it. Love the oversized model, makes it a lot easier to understand.
