The carne asada looks delicious, the Super Ocean looks fantastic and the 102 temps are a daily occurrence in the summer a slight 400 miles east of you...

108F or 42.2C in Phoenix today. We'll have another month of heat before it breaks - and then we'll have beautiful weather until next June!

My last trip to Vegas I was getting 117* reads on my car. That was freaky.

About 20 years ago here it was 118, then 120, then 122 on consecutive days. When it hit 120, they had to CLOSE the airport for a few hours. Evidently the take off and landing charts stopped at 118, so they had to contact Boeing, McDonald Douglas and Airbus for speed, flaps, etc. That's right -the airport was "closed for hot."

A couple months later they moved the official temp spot at the airport to a location that averaged 3* cooler.

I live in central Phoenix - when they say it's 108 in Phoenix, it's really 112-115 in the heart of the heat island.

But I'll take August in Phoenix over February in Chicago anyday. And we get 6 months of perfect weather. My biggest weather concern is - "Light jacket or no jacket."

Nice watch BTW.

Very nice RJ...and love the watch too. I didn't realize it got that hot in LA. It is always so pleasant when I go there...and NO humidity.

Very envious, looks like a beautiful day. 8)

In Sydney we're just starting to struggle out of a particularly cold winter. I miss the warm weather. Having said that, I suspect a few of you would laugh at what I consider cold.

35F is a friggin' bitch, eh? I'm pulling out a ski jacket at 50F. But it's a dry cool.

 Yeah, 60F here yesterday, and I still wore a North Face down jacket when I went outside.

Very sunny but with gale force winds uprooting trees and stuff. Strange sort of day.
