My finance professors always told me that accounting was the best degree to pursue...
You can always do general business with an accounting degree but you can't do accounting with general business degree!

That is the truth, or at least in my case. Damn you Gordon Gecko for making me think a finance degree from a state school would land me in the fast lane.

I got my finance degree in '05, and couldnt find a gig that didnt involve hard sales. I went back and got a masters in acct and sure enough I had multiple offers pretty quickly.

For two things so similar, they are light years away as far as job ops.

Yeah you are absolutely right...

Once again I am reminded that I wasn't the only one that wanted to be gordon gecko (minus the whole federal pen. time!), and I miraculously feel a little better about my delusions of grandeur!

Speaking of Gecko, what the hell kind of a title is "Money Never Sleeps" for a sequel?

I don't know about the new Wall Street yet, but they are supposed to be making a movie about this guy with Leo D. playing the lead and Ridley Scott Directing.

I just read the book and it was a first hand account of that 90's extravagance.
