How come these faces are a little bit different? Im pretty sure they both said that they were Avenger M1s

They both are but not all of them had the regatta 10 minute countdown timer

Yes, they are both M1s. But don't worry. The answer is not obvious. The one with the black dial is the yachting version - used to count down ten minutes for yachting or some such. Don't know the specifics of how it is used as I don't own a yacht. The one with the yellow dial is the standard version.
