Driver....totally agree with you on the tin-foil slasp and hollow links...BUT for $4,500 in MINT condition, complete with everything, & an a brand new black oem bezel, I think I can live with it. I do like the new SUB and it is much better built but it is significantly more expensive. I am used to the more solid Breitling bracelets but I can live with the tin-foil Sub.....I HOPE.

As a previous Sub LV owner I'd suggest steering clear of it unless you are totally fine with the old-school tin-foil Rolex clasp and hollow linked bracelet. If you're used to something solid like a Breitling or Omega, you will be sorely disappointed with the classic Sub set-up.

That said, the head is beautifully made and superbly well finished.

Personally I think that if you want a green Sub, then the new generation models are the only way to go IMO.

Here is a good one with a green bezel and gunmetal dial.

You were spot on with this!! I wanted the 50th anniversary SUB badly but I couldn't get past the cheap feeling of the clasp! I went with the ceramic GMT II, best purchase I have ever made. Bracelet and clasp are very solid and the watch fits like a beaut, wear much larger than 40mm...more like 43mm. The ceramic bezel sets this watch off. The green GMT hand fulfills my desire to have something green in my watch.

Glad I passed on the Sub LV.

That was the RIGHT choice. The tin foil cheapness takes all the wind out of your sails when you handle one in person. The new GMT is a beauty.
Congrats on the watch...oh, and the baby too :cheer:

Thanks RJ. When I got to my AD, he had a brand new LV sitting in the case, I was super excited, I picked it up, and it felt so cheap.....what a let down. I had my eye on the ceramic GMT II since it came out and there was no comparision in terms to weight and look...imho. Down the road I can def see myself getting into a ceramic sub.

John - here's a crappy wrist shot.
